Garland Health Department Begins Administering COVID-19 Vaccine
The Garland Health Department is utilizing its current doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to vaccinate individuals included in Phase 1A – frontline health care workers such as firefighters, EMTs, school nurses and long-term care facility residents and staff. We only have enough vaccines at this time to complete Phase 1A.

We will begin providing vaccinations to those in Phase 1B (those age 65+ and those with underlying health conditions) when additional vaccine shipments arrive. We do not have a time frame for those shipments at this time. Updates will be posted to GarlandTX.gov/COVIDVaccine and to the City’s Twitter and Facebook pages as they become available.

Visit the City's YouTube channel to watch a video about the vaccine administration to frontline health workers.
Christmas Tree Recycling
Did you deck your halls with a real Christmas tree this holiday season? When the needles begin to fall and the holiday spirit starts to fade, remember to remove all tinsel, garland, decorations and lights before bringing all real trees to the Wood Recycling Facility and the C.M. Hinton Jr. Regional Landfill for free recycling into mulch.

This service is available to all Garland residents with proof of residency. Real, clean trees only. No artificial or decorated trees.

You may also put your tree out for brush and bulky pickup. Be sure to remove all decorations before setting it out.
