Equity Town Hall
Hopefully you had the opportunity to participate in Friday’s Equity Town Hall with our two new partners and “critical friends” in this work - Dr. Lasana Hotep and Dr. Cynthia Olivo. If you weren’t able to attend or would like to watch a video of the event, please visit the Los Rios YouTube page.
Supporting Students' Health and Wellness
Los Rios and [college name] have numerous programs and services to support the physical and mental health of our students:

Campus.Health by TimelyMD
Los Rios has partnered with Campus.Health by TimelyMD to provide 24/7 medical and mental telehealth care for all students as part of the Los Rios Health Services program. This service is funded by the Health Services Fee. Whether they're feeling sick or overwhelmed, students can talk to a licensed provider from their smartphone or any web-enabled device for free. Campus.Health's medical providers can diagnose common conditions (such as a cold, flu, or sinus infection) and the TalkNow service gives students a safe space to talk (for example, about anxiety, relationship issues, or depression). Students can visit Campus.Health, click Sign In, and register with their Los Rios Gmail email address. After they are logged in, they can choose to have a voice or video call. At checkout, enter the coupon code: [school code].

LRCCD Health & Wellness Patient Portal
Students may now register through the new Patient Portal to make an appointment with Health & Wellness Services, get referrals for TB testing and immunizations, as well as get an evaluation of health requirements needed for their instructional program and upload any required documentation. Students can also use the Patient Portal if they need non-emergent nurse assistance or referrals for physical and mental well-being.

Other Resources
Here are a few other free resources for students:
  • CampusWell: Our student health magazine covering current health topics, including a self-care guide
  • Mindwise: A self-screening mental health tool with self-care resources
  • Crisis Text Line: Text "COURAGE" to 741741 for 24/7 mental health support.
  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Call (800) 273-8255 for 24/7 support for people in distress.
  • Aunt Bertha: Search for free or reduced cost services like medical care, food, job training, and more in your area.
Los Rios employees can also take advantage of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). For additional resources and support, contact Health & Wellness Services.
Three students are talking while walking out of the SCC West Sacramento Center. A title at the bottom on a yellow box states "Financial Aid"
The Financial Aid Office has an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) Appeal available to students that have already completed the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application. The appeal is used when a student or parent of a student has a sudden change in income (such as loss of a job) and now their income is different than what was reported on the student’s FAFSA/CADAA.

The Financial Aid Office may re-evaluate the information reported on the FAFSA/CADAA and, in some cases, adjust a student's EFC and re-evaluate their financial aid. If a student shares with you that they have had a sudden loss of income as described above, please encourage them to contact the Financial Aid office directly to see if they qualify for an appeal.

If the student has not already completed a FAFSA/CADAA, it’s not too late apply!
