A Message from Councilmember Malnar

February 21, 2020

Dear Sahuaro District Residents,

Spring Training is here. The following excerpts are from a recent Glendale News release: Camelback Ranch-Glendale prepares to welcome "home" the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers for Spring Training. This year it will be easier to get into and out of Camelback Ranch, thanks to the opening of Ballpark Boulevard, a new 1.62 mile stretch of road that connects Camelback Ranch-Glendale directly to the Loop 101 and the Glendale Sports and Entertainment District at Westgate.

Westgate's shops and restaurants are ready to help celebrate our hometown teams. Throughout the season, fans are encouraged to show their same day ticket stub to take advantage of the many discounts offered at nearly 20 eateries at Westgate Entertainment District. For more information, visit http://www.westgateaz.com/baseball.

Saturday's opening game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The weather forecast suggests it may be raining so if you plan to attend, bring your umbrella and check with the box office in case the game is cancelled.

Have a nice weekend!

HIT OPENING DAY ON THE OPEN ROAD
Ballpark Boulevard Ready to Welcome Fans to Camelback Ranch-Glendale

With all the excitement of Opening Day February 22nd, we want to remind fans Ballpark Boulevard is their go-to route, no matter what part of town they are coming from.

Fans can access Ballpark Boulevard from Glendale and 99th Avenues from the north or from Westgate. Westgate visitors also have a straight shot down Maryland Avenue. There is additional access to 99th Avenue and Ballpark Boulevard from Cardinals Way, and with reduced congestion, Camelback Road now provides easier access for fans coming from the south and east.
