Class of 2022 Proudly Announces College Acceptance Choices
On Monday, May 2, proud members of the Class of 2022 gathered at the College Acceptances Wall and ceremonially placed a Jaguar paw sticker on the name of the college/university they will be attending. This acknowledgment of college choices signals the start of the journey to graduation.

Congratulations, Seniors! Click here for more photos of the ceremony.

Help Us Ensure a Safe Graduation Season
Administrators from seven area Catholic high schools are jointly asking Class of 2022 parents/guardians to help ensure a safe and happy graduation season.

As part of an educational effort, the administrators have composed a letter outlining the details of the 1989 Amendment to the Ohio Revised Code, commonly known as the "Keg Law," that holds individuals responsible for underage drinking on property under their control. Class of 2022 parents/guardians, click here to read the letter.
Students Serve Dear Neighbors at St. Augustine Health Ministries
Students have been traveling to St. Augustine Health Ministries monthly to attend Mass and spend time with the residents.

On Wednesday, eight students attended Mass and enjoyed a cookie social with the residents. Students served as Eucharistic Ministers, lectors and altar servers and sang "Joseph, Father" at the closing of Mass. After the service, students spoke about their future plans and asked the residents for life advice.

Sponsor a Senior by Donating to the Beloved “Walk of the Roses” Tradition
The Class of 2022 will take part in the ceremonial “Walk of the Roses” on Tuesday, May 31.

Each Senior will carry a beautiful bouquet of red roses up Rocky River Drive from Our Lady of Angels Church to Saint Joseph Academy where their commencement ceremony will take place. Your gift of $60 sponsors a Senior’s bouquet of roses and allows you to send a dedicated message to a specific member of the Class of 2022 or a general note of encouragement.

To donate to the “Walk of the Roses” click here. If you prefer to mail your donation, please do so prior to Monday, May 23. Envelopes should be addressed to the attention of the Advancement Department, 3470 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, OH 44111, with the notation “Roses.”

Be sure to mark your calendars for May 31 to join us along Rocky River Drive as the Class of 2022 processes as part of this beloved tradition.
Faculty Celebrated During Teacher Appreciation Week
This week, Saint Joseph Academy celebrated the excellence of our teaching faculty during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Teaching is a true vocation. From creating engaging and rigorous learning experiences to nurturing students' relationships with Christ to cultivating enriching extracurricular and service opportunities, our teachers put their hearts and souls into the work of forming young women to be compassionate leaders in a global society.
Thank you, teachers, for all that you do!
Students' Artwork Honored by Jewish Federation
This past Sunday, the Kol Israel Foundation and Jewish Federation of Cleveland held the opening ceremony for the Jewish Federation Art Contest at 78th Street Studios. At the ceremony, Debby Chudakoff, daughter of Holocaust survivors, shared her family’s story. Visual Arts teacher and Department Chair Mrs. Tammy Sparks attended with Visual Arts students, some of whose artwork was displayed.

The exhibit shows the artistic expression of students in grades 6-12 across Northeast Ohio and is a reflection of how resistance during the Holocaust is relevant in today's society.

Important Information for Class of 2022: Graduation Signs

Spotlight: Brigid Coyne '25
Accomplishments: Brigid has been an Irish dancer for eight years. When she was younger, she watched the documentary “JIG” and she was determined to not only excel in Irish dance, but make it to the World competition. In April, she traveled to Belfast, Ireland to compete in The World Irish Dance Competition reaching that goal from when she was a little girl.

After two years of postponements due to the pandemic, The World Irish Dancing Championships returned in 2022, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

“I love dancing and I have worked very hard to improve my skills and talents,” Brigid said. “This is the first time I’ve traveled to Ireland, and I love being able to spend time with my friends and meet people from all over the world as a result of dancing.” It is extremely difficult to qualify for The World Irish Dance Competition, with approximately only 100 dancers qualifying in each division from across the globe.

Brigid danced in the Girls 14-15 category and finished in the top 75 in the world. She has learned a lot about herself throughout her years of dance, but what Brigid has learned most about herself through performing on stage is that she has the ability to get up in front of large numbers of people, overcome her nerves and ultimately dance to the best of her abilities.

In addition to her achievements in Irish dance, Brigid received Honorable Mention in the 2022 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for a photograph she submitted as part of her first semester photography class at Saint Joseph Academy.

Activities: Brigid is a member of the cross country and track teams. Outside of school, she volunteers at a variety of organizations, runs local races with her dad and teaches Irish dance to younger students.
