December 2021
Tis the season!
Hi everyone,

Yes, tis the season! A season to be thankful for so many great things! The return to in-person programming! New energy. New interest. New programming. A new year! A new era. A new beginning!

In the meantime, we will be closed for the holidays from December 19th - January 2nd. Then, all classes and programming resume on Monday, January 3rd. Most of our daily schedule remains the same in the new year, but always take a look at our website for any changes or updates.

Our Next Tap Jam hosted by one of our Artists in Residence Jared Alexander is scheduled for Sunday, December 12th. Join us if you can. You never know who might show up.

Also, our annual Youth Program Holiday Showcase is back and scheduled for two evenings at local PS3. If you're interested in more details it's probably best to contact reception at 646-230-9564 for questions and details. This is generally part of our year-round youth program and attended by our youth program students and their families, but if you're so inclined, and if you want to see what we've been up to, feel free to join us. You can purchase tickets by contacting reception at 646-230-9564.

As usual, feel free to email us at info@atdf.org if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a very happy holiday season and meanwhile, see you in the funny papers,

Tony Waag

Our faculty brings decades of experience to the studio to create a supportive, fun, and rigorous environment for rhythm tap learning.

Year-Round Youth Program
Our youth program classes offer children and teens a chance to become immersed in tap culture. Classes focus on the fundamentals of rhythm tap, including clean technique, classic and contemporary tap repertory, and improvisation skills. Tap history, films, jazz music, and special guests deepen students’ appreciation of this great American art form. Our teachers bring decades of experience to the studio and create a warm, supportive and fun environment for learning.
The ATDF Youth Program is designed as a nine month program that runs from mid-September through mid-June. Each class builds cumulatively using a specific tap curriculum towards a performance at the end of the year. Please plan to make a full year commitment to your child’s tap class so that she/he has a satisfying learning experience.
