Quilter of the Month
Meet Kathy Rausch, our featured Quilter of the Month! If you've been in our shop, you have seen some of the beautiful quilts that Kathy has quilted for us. She is extremely talented.
Kathy has been quilting for 21 years and was introduced to the craft by two special friends and considers herself self taught. She hasn't met a fabric that she doesn't see it's potential, but is drawn to batiks, Kim Diehl fabrics and Kansas Troubles.
She admits to having an obsession with rulers. She used to think that you only needed perhaps two rulers to quilt but now her shelf is overflowing. Can anyone relate? Her favorite is the Bloc-Loc ruler to make half square triangles.
She rarely makes a quilt twice so doesn't really have a favorite book or pattern. She admits that she loves Judy Niemeyer and Kim Diehl designs. Kathy gets her inspiration from books, shop samples, friends and Pinterest. She truly loves the piecing aspect of quilting along with paper piecing. She doesn't get to do as much as she would like due to the fact that she keeps very busy with long arming quilts for others. For that we are very grateful! Stop by to check out our window filled with Kathy's quilts. She is another one of our very talented Quilters of the Month!
