As the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out progresses, many members have been asking what this means for their businesses and workplaces. Join us for this complimentary webinar as Susan Levi from HR|BIZZ answers your burning questions, such as:
- Can I make vaccination mandatory for my employees once they’re eligible?
- Can I offer incentives for employees to get vaccinated?
- Do I have to offer paid time off for employees to get their vaccine?
- Do I have to offer paid COVID-19 sick pay if employees experience the illness that is a common side effect of the vaccinations?
- Can I let fully vaccinated employees go mask-less around other fully vaccinated employees? The CDC’s new guidance seems to say yes, but Cal/OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standards don’t address this.

YouTube Shorts: The Opportunity for Creators and Businesses

Have you heard of YouTube Shorts? Wondering how to use shorts on YouTube for business?
In this article, you’ll discover what YouTube shorts are and how marketers can take advantage of this new content type on YouTube.
Why YouTube Shorts?
YouTube Shorts is YouTube’s response to the rise in popularity of short-form video on platforms like TikTok. A YouTube short is a vertical video (a 9:16 aspect ratio) that takes up the entire mobile screen and can be up to 1 minute in length, offering a different kind of viewing experience for the platform’s users.
Part of the appeal of short-form video, particularly with younger audiences, is that it’s immediately satisfying to the viewer and they can go right into the next video to quickly get another satisfying moment. It has a stickiness factor.
Right now, there’s not a lot of competition with YouTube Shorts. Unlike with regular YouTube videos, where you’re competing with content that has been released since 2005, there’s not a lot of saturation in Shorts. So if you’re an early adopter, you’ll get more visibility.
Typically, when a new feature like Shorts comes out, YouTube does two things. They’ll put a lot of money behind it—investing in both R&D and paying creators to make content—and focus on getting distribution out. YouTube is going to push and promote Shorts because they want you to succeed. This makes Shorts a huge opportunity for both marketers and creators.
Shorts is currently a level playing field for eyeballs, although bigger creators will have the advantage of more insight into what an audience will respond to. To find success, you’ll need to publish consistently so you’ll need a programming or content strategy.

Please join us for a legislative webinar that will focus on the latest developments coming out of Sacramento that affect the printing and packaging industry. In this webinar, we will specifically focus on the latest initiatives dealing with the various bills and initiatives on recycling mandates and the potential fees that the printing and packaging industry would have to pay in order to meet California’s potential new mandates. In this webinar we will highlight:
- The “California Plastic Waste Reduction Regulations Initiative” which may appear on the ballot in California as an initiated state statute on November 8, 2022 or earlier.
- The numerous recycling-related legislative developments, including SB 54 which seeks to institute new recycling mandates.
- Other policy concepts that could appear during the 2021-2022 Legislative Session here in California.
Collectively, these policy developments would potentially:
- Require producers to ensure that single-use packaging and foodware is recyclable, reusable, refillable, or compostable by 2030.
- Require producers to reduce or eliminate single-use plastic packaging or foodware that CalRecycle determines is unnecessary for product delivery;
- Require producers to reduce the amount of single-use plastic packaging and foodware sold in California by at least 25 percent by 2030;
- Require producers to use recycled content and renewable materials in the production of single-use plastic packaging and foodware;
- Establish “mechanisms for convenient consumer access to recycling,” including take-back programs and deposits;
- Establish “Extended Producer Responsibility” (EPR) concepts
- Enact various fees that CalRecycle would administer onto businesses.
Please join us for an overview of these policy developments. Your business can be ahead of the game in terms of what’s coming down the pipeline in Sacramento.

Learn how to share the value of SOC 2 and HITRUST Certification and how your company ensures overall regulatory compliance of data.
Data has become one of the most important assets for many organizations, and as more of your clients are sharing data, building their trust can become a challenging and critical risk. There are many ways to gain the trust of your clients and ensure them that your organization will protect their data. Accomplishing this can require completing countless security questionnaires and meetings to provide the necessary information to get your clients comfortable that you have appropriate security practices in place.
One option to build trust in a more effective and efficient way is to obtain a third-party audit or certification over your security practices that can be shared with your clients. The AICPA SOC 2 report and the HITRUST Certification are common approaches to address this, but which one is right for you and what are the differences?
We will help you to understand what both of these options involve and determine if they may be beneficial to gain your client’s trust in managing their data.
MAIN TOPICS
- SOC 2 report and HITRUST Certification requirements, framework, and resources required.
- Security and privacy requirements of GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc., that each industry, state, country, and other regulating bodies are now holding us accountable.
- Best practices regarding the collection, processing, storage and sharing of your data.

How A Professional Letterpress Printer Makes Wedding Invitations
|
|
Chelsea Cuykendall is a letterpress printer who prints wedding invitations and business cards for small businesses. She creates a design with the client and then has a letterpress plate called a photopolymer made, which is used to ink the design onto paper. The process involves a lot of multitasking where Chelsea has to switch out each piece and maintain a steady rhythm with her foot on the treadle.
