Enid Response & Recovery
COVID-19 Update
|
|
We will recover. While this week we are spending our time understanding the financial and social supports available to sustain us through this economic crisis, we will soon turn our focus to recovery. ERDA and our partners are educating ourselves on the programs in place to bridge the gap for businesses both large and small. While we may not have all of the answers yet, please don’t hesitate to call us with your questions. You may call our office at 580-233-4232 or email us at
debbie@growenid.com
and we will get back with you as soon as we can. If you are working on completing an SBA application and need assistance, please call Autry Tech at 580-242-2750. We anticipate sending out this newsletter twice a week and updating our Facebook and website with new information as it is available. Our goal is to help you get the funding and resources you need to get through this shut down.
But we must also be looking ahead. As soon as the crisis has passed, we will turn our focus to recovery and resiliency. What have we learned from this disaster? How will this experience change the way we do business going forward? How do we need to adapt and grow into a stronger economy for the future? This economic shut down will expose opportunities in the market that were not obvious before. So, while we prioritize getting through the next few months, we keep ours eye on the future. Things will never be quite the same again.
Sincerely,
Lisa Powell

Area businesses may be eligible for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which is a part of the CARES Act that was passed by Congress.
Now that the bill has passed it goes to the SBA for development of guidance/implementation procedures which was worked on over the weekend and continues to progress. It is anticipated that later this week (hopefully on Friday, but the SBA has 15 days to develop guidance on much of this) the SBA and Treasury Department will launch the new Paycheck Protection Program to help keep employees on payroll and small businesses operating. Additional information about this program will be shared in the coming days.

Small Business Assistance
|
In response to this pandemic, ERDA has partnered with Autry Technology Center, the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce, and REI Oklahoma to serve as a resource to our business partners during this COVID-19 crisis. Although this partnership is not affiliated with the Small Business Administration, our goal continues to be to support our community businesses by providing resources and assistance.

Don't forget to respond to the 2020 Census!
Access to responding to the 2020 Census is now open! All households should have received an invitation to complete the Census in the mail by March 20. Completing the Census takes less than 15 minutes and can be done by phone, mail, or for the first time – online. If you did not receive an invitation to respond or have lost your Census ID, you can still go to
my2020census.gov and respond. The Census plays a crucial role in funding for roads, schools, hospitals, and emergency services. It is estimated that Enid could lose $1,675 per person, per year to help fund these services if they are not counted. Please share with your family, friends, and employees the importance of filling out the Census to help shape our future.
