BIA-LAV OBTAINS EXEMPTIONS FOR HOMEBUILDING IN STAY-AT-HOME ORDERS
Dear Member:
During these trying and uncertain times, our thoughts are with you, your families, and your employees. We hope you are all remaining safe and healthy.
BIA-LAV has been working this new-way-of-life adjustment for our members, non-stop. We reached out to every city, county, and agency within our jurisdiction with this letter, explaining that it is critical that we maintain housing construction as an essential function, while maintaining the health and safety of construction workers. You can find a full recap of every City and County within our jurisdiction in our report, referenced below. Even as the State, County, and other local jurisdictions have issued “shelter in place” orders, we were able to secure exemptions "as needed to maintain continuity of operation of the federal critical infrastructure sectors, critical government services, schools, and construction, including housing construction.”
Thank you for your continued service to our industry as we all navigate this challenging time together. If BIA-LAV can be of any help, pleasereach out to us!
Thank you,
BIA-LAV

Our BIA advocacy teams are working with State, regional and local elected officials across the State and Southern California to help ensure exemptions for homebuilding and associated businesses.
We are gearing up to bring you an updated events calendar in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, we will be communicating with you about upcoming webinars on how to ensure you are able to still do business during this trying time, bringing you together for virtual events, and doing our best to service our membership. Should you have any questions about the events, please contact Jennifer Minzey. Thank you for your ongoing support and we are looking forward to seeing you all in person soon!
