Hello everyone.

Let’s welcome the month of May. Do you remember when schools had May Day activities? I know that was a long time ago and dates me. However, when many of us were students, we looked forward with excitement, every year, to those special moments shared with friends and family. They seemed to almost kickoff summer and moved us more quickly to the last day of school.

Now, it might be that we have to find our own special moments in May. So, I am inviting you to make more time for reading and enjoying a good novel, poem, or collection of short stories. Also, Mother’s Day is almost here. Give a literary gift to the mother figure in your life. Perhaps there are those whom you admire for their dedication to mothering; don’t forget to add a book to their card of gratitude and encouragement. Cookbooks may come in handy at this time, as well as books on interior design, gardening and storage. Just checkout the library online and soon, in person.

That’s right, you will soon be able to come back into the library in-person. On Tuesday, May 4th and Saturday, May 8th, the Fulton County Library System will again offer patrons access to in-person services, although limited. That access will continue through May, on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

LIBRARY SET TO REOPEN FOR IN-PERSON SERVICES
FulcoLibrary is pleased to announce the reopening of 32 branch libraries on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021, with in-branch services available on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Patrons will have the opportunity to enter the library for in-person browsing and computer use.

Curbside services will remain available on Mondays and Wednesdays-Fridays, as previously offered. Visit our website for details on curbside services.

During in-person visits to the library, patrons will be permitted one hour per day of in-person browsing, self-serve checkout, pickup of holds, copying, printing and computer use. All services will follow CDC guidelines for social distancing and mask use. Patrons will be required to wear a mask (regardless of vaccination status) while inside the branch and maintain a 6 foot distance from staff and other patrons.

For more information on the Library's reopening plan, visit www.fulcolibrary.org/reopening.
DID YOU MISS OUR EARTH DAY CRAFT? YOU CAN STILL WATCH!
CHATTAHOOCHEE NATURE CENTER WALK
Join our friends from the Chattahoochee Nature Center Saturday, May 1st at 10:00 am as they take a nature walk and learn all about the food chain.

This may inspire you to take your own nature walk and see what parts of the food chain you can find in your neighborhood. This program is recommended for ages 5+.
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS
We are proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week April 18-24, 2021 and to shine a light on our dedicated library volunteers.

This week has been celebrated since 1974 and although we can’t see them in person right now, our volunteers are a vital part of the library system’s success.

Thank you to the over 23,200 volunteers who have served over 1.3 million volunteer hours at the library over the past 31 years. #NVW #LOCALLIGHT
April is Stress Awareness month, and Fulton County Libraries has many different online resources to help our patrons learn about stress and other health related topics.

The Infobase Health Reference Center contains articles from medical, scientific, and academic publications like The Encyclopedia of Nutrition and Good Health, The Encyclopedia of Stress and Stress-Related Diseases, and The Facts On File Encyclopedia of Health and Medicine, along with dozens of similar resources.

Like all platforms offered by Infobase, tools for citing and evaluating sources is provided.
