Cruise in to CAM this Saturday for Our Annual Classic Car Show & BBQ
The sponsors are now secured, food and t-shirts are ordered, and the band is ready to rock! The CAM Cruise-in takes place on Saturday, August 20th. Grab your lawn chair and cooler and roll on into the CAM lot on Woodward starting at 9:00 a.m., classic car or not -- although classic cars get premium parking spots! Those without a classic car can park in the lot south of our building.

Aug 30th, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
This program is intended to educate workers and project managers about the hazards associated with and safeguards needed to protect workers during excavation activities. Review case studies and participate in hands-on scenario-based activities to enhance their understanding of this topic.

Sept 5th-Oct 24th, 5:00 p.m-8:00 p.m.
Students will learn a series of related steps leading to an understanding of shop prints, basic print terminology and sketching various views of pictorial and orthographic drawings. Plot plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details of all elements that make up a print will be presented.

Sept 7th, 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. | Virtual
Learn effective management of projects to remain competitive and successful in today’s construction environment. The project environment is discussed, as well as tools to plan organizational response to work. Project management implementation is explained including the effective management of resources.

Sept 13th, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
This course teaches the principles of basic life support for adults, including hands-only CPR, first aid, choking in adults, signs, and symptoms of heart attack and stroke, and treatment for shock. Learn how AEDs work, and why they are a critical part of emergency cardiac care. Certification is valid for a period of two years.

Is your company having a milestone anniversary in 2022 or 2023? CAM Magazine's December 2022 issue will be celebrating "Company Milestone Anniversaries" for CAM member companies whose anniversaries are in this calendar year or next. Any milestone anniversary ending in 5 or 0 is welcome.
Companies celebrating 25 years and over will be allowed a 200-word editorial blurb and a photo/logo to celebrate their anniversary. Write-ups and photos should be EMAILED > no later than Friday, October 21st. All other companies will be mentioned by year – 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th. This year's clay shoot is now sold out, but there is still time to sponsor this event. The CAM Sporting Clays has been one of CAM's most popular events since it began more than 30 years ago.

Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event held each August that recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America's workers safe.

The 8th Annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) takes place November 14th-20th. The U.S. Department of Labor sponsors this event to recognize the value of Registered Apprenticeship for industry, career seekers, and communities. NAW 2022 also celebrates the 85th anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act, which established the modern apprenticeship system that exists today to support industry’s needs for talent while protecting the safety and welfare of apprentices.

OSHA Seeking Nominations for National Advisory Committee

DeWALT Recalls Over a Million Miter Saws
|
|
DeWalt has recalled 1.4 million of its 12-inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw Models DWS779, DWS780, and DHS790. The miter saw’s rear safety guard can break or detach, posing an injury hazard due to projectiles that can strike the user and bystanders and a laceration hazard to the user who could come into direct contact with the saw blade. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled miter saws and contact DeWALT for details on how to receive a free repair kit or to take their saw to a DeWALT service center for a free repair.
