We are certainly experiencing unsettling times in Colorado, across the nation and around the globe. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and please know that Colorado Proud and the Colorado Department of Agriculture are here to serve you. Colorado Proud created a new website to connect producers with consumers during this difficult time. Please visit www.ColoradoProud.com and complete the online form to add your business and current products and services. We will promote this site through press releases and social media , encouraging consumers to look for the logo buy local.

Reminder! If you haven't done so already, please be sure to incorporate the new logo on your website, packaging and marketing materials. We have received a lot of positive feedback from members and consumers, and we are happy to help everyone transition to the updated logo. If you need the new logo artwork, please e-mail Wendy.White@state.co.us .

Member Survey Results

Thank you to everyone who responded to the Colorado Proud member survey. Your valuable feedback will help guide our efforts in the future. Here are a few highlights from the survey:

90% believe the Colorado Proud program is valuable or extremely valuable.
90% rate the Colorado Department of Agriculture's management of Colorado Proud as excellent or good.
92% rate their experience with Colorado Proud as excellent or good.
69% believe the program helps increase sales.

Retail Ready Workshops

The April "Retail Ready" workshops have been postponed until the fall. We'll let you know when new dates are selected.

Saving Family Farms One Beer at a Time

Root Shoot Malting introduces their new documentary 100 Year Lease, created to convey the importance of family farms and conservation of Colorado agriculture. This new film features moving cinematography and storytelling about the preservation of local agriculture. Root Shoot and Traverse Image intend to work with their brewery and distillery partners throughout 2020 to create gatherings and conversations around the 100 Year Lease documentary.

Food Safety Plan Curriculum

National Farmers Union and National Young Farmers Coalition are looking for feedback.

This year, NFU and Young Farmers are planning an online food safety plan writing class with peer-to-peer study groups. The goal is to create a curriculum and format that meets the real needs of small farmers.

If you have ever written (or tried to write) a farm food safety plan, please take five minutes to fill out this online survey. What resources did you use? What templates were helpful? What challenges did you face along the way?
