BC HOCKEY LEAGUES PLAYERS OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 20, 2020
U18AAA (MAJOR MIDGET LEAGUE)
#10 Noah Quinn
Kootenay Ice
Nelson, BC
Forward
20G, 20A
Quinn has notched seven (7) goals in his six (6) games played in January and set a team record for the most points in a single game with seven (7).

The assistant captain has taken his leadership skills off the ice as well, volunteering with the Special Olympics floor hockey program.
U18FAAA (FEMALE MIDGET LEAGUE)
#13 Nicole Thomas
Thompson-Okanagan Lakers
Kamloops, BC
Forward
5G, 10A
Thomas finished the month with two (2) points in the team's three (3) games played, but it was her off-ice charity initiative that has set her apart. Thomas and her sister started a recycling program in Kamloops that collects items that are no longer accepted in curbside bins. In the first month of the program they recycled 9.7kg of plastic bags that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill.

Thomas brings a high level of focus and intensity to every training session and utilizes her hockey sense and attention to detail in all three (3) zones to be productive offensively, while being a defensively responsible centre.
U16AAA (MINOR MIDGET LEAGUE)
#71 Tomis Marinkovic
Vancouver NE Chiefs
Coquitlam, BC
Forward
22GA, 25A
January was a big month for Marinkovic who scored 10 points in his five (5) games played, including a four (4) point game win over the Valley West Giants.

Marinkovic has also made great strides in his development and team leadership, reducing his penalty minutes and helping lead the Chiefs to a 3-1-1 record in January.
U15AAA (MAJOR BANTAM LEAGUE)
#16 Logan Johnston
Valley West Giants
Surrey, BC
Forward
18G, 9A
Johnston has shown great development in his early hockey career, making the jump from an A2 level to AAA effortlessly. Johnston scored five (5) points in six (6) games in January.

The team captain's passion for the game is evident at every ice time. Johnston serves the team as both a leader and role model.
