Hello Class of 2024,
Happy Womxn's History Month! In this e-newsletter, you'll see great opportunities featuring women, femme-identifying and non-binary leadership in stem, business, academia, health and wellness, art and activism, and more from across Tulane's campus. It's going to be a month filled with discovery, excitement, and achievement! In addition, at the bottom we talk about ways to prepare and succeed with midterms coming soon - if you're not already waist-deep in them now!
Now that we're in March, this is the perfect time to get a quick check-in on ourselves to see what we need to do to finish the semester strong. How are our grades looking? Our social life? Physical and mental health? What sustainable and possible changes would improve these areas? What opportunities or adventures can we try out this month?
This month, let's focus on finding a balance between ensuring our needs are met and finding ways to expand our skills, explore opportunities, and build stronger relationships in our community. All of this without overworking ourselves. Being involved on campus is great and can yield both a sense of belonging and accomplishment, but it means nothing if we're not showing up as our best selves or are being spread thin across our obligations. Remember, we're here rooting for you!

When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Dialogue with Patrisse Cullors
We are excited to welcome artist, author, educator, political strategist, organizer, and co-founder of Black Lives Matter, Patrisse Cullors, as she discusses her 2018 book When They Call You A Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir.
Join us for a moderated Q&A session where Cullors will discuss her life, work, and activism through audience questions. RSVPs will be entered in a raffle. There will be 30 copies of her book available. This March 1st-5th, come together as a campus community for Sex Week as we engage in conversations about healthy sexuality and sex positivity through signature programming hosted by The Well for Health Promotion and campus partners.
Sex Week brings together the Tulane community to offer a diverse week of comprehensive, queer-inclusive, culturally-specific, sex-positive sexual health events and conversations.

2021 Zale-Kimmerling Writer-in-Residence: Valeria Luiselli
Coordinated through the Newcomb Institute, The Zale-Kimmerling Writer-in-Residence Program brings renowned woman writers to the Tulane campus.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Valeria Luiselli was born in Mexico City and grew up in South Korea, South Africa and India. An acclaimed and award-winning writer of both fiction and nonfiction, she is the author of the essay collection Sidewalks; the novels Faces in the Crowd and The Story of My Teeth; Tell Me How It Ends: An Essay in Forty Questions and Lost Children Archive. |

TEDxTulane's 'Beyond The Conversation'
TEDxTulane's 'Beyond The Conversation' theme is all about sharing ideas and provoking action for a better and more insightful tomorrow. It is by this goal that TEDxTulane brings to you a three-day event that focuses on showcasing this year's TEDxTulane speakers along with providing extra information/insight into the TEDxTulane organization itself.
Activities include speaker panel sessions, raffle giveaways, informative TEDxTulane meetings, interactive McAlister tabling, and of course the grand release of this year's TEDxTulane speeches on our event website.
Due to COVID-19, all meeting sessions will be held online via Zoom & will be open to the public for sign up in the weeks preceding the event. We look forward to sharing the wonderful ideas and experiences of our speakers, as well as motivating others to learn more about the TEDxTulane organization.

Spring Scholar Corner: Midterm Success at Tulane
NTC's Student Success Team is Here for You! They support Tulane students in their personal & professional development through Success Coaching, tutoring, workshops, and events.
Success Workshops. The Student Success team tackles the common challenges students face in real time with workshops strategically scheduled throughout the semester. When attending a Success workshops, students can expect to engage with other Tulane students, discover best practices, and learn to apply their individual learning styles.
The next workshop, Cookies and Clear Heads, is Monday, March 1, at 4 p.m. CST until supplies run out. Join the Success team outside of Mussafer Hall for cookies and conversation to help you manage your pre-midterms stress. Our Success Coaches will be available to discuss midterms-related topics such as: study tips, exam preparation, test taking anxiety, destress tactics, and more. Enjoy free cookies just for attending!
Peer Success Leaders. Peer Success Leaders (PSLs) are highly motivated and capable students who are ready to assist their peers through the challenges that come with the different stages of your college career. Whether it is navigating the academic and social challenges of college or pursuing leadership and involvement opportunities on campus, PSLs will collaborate with you to build a strong foundation and success plan for your time at Tulane.
