BOMA FTLPB PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Can you believe we will be starting the last quarter of 2020 shortly?

I have been very impressed with the people and businesses that have had a positive attitude. As adversity hit us in ways we never really imagined, we have had to ask ourselves: What is our business model going forward? How do we need to adapt? For ourselves? For our businesses? We are all trying to tap into our creative side while balancing logical thinking to tackle our every day.

BOMA Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches has kept this in mind. We strive to provide you with informative programming in the many aspects of our industry.

Last month, we held the "Cleaning in COVID" program, which went beyond the basics. We reviewed future shortages, cost changes, future cleaning scopes, certifications, and specialized training for your cleaning crew. Thank you to our valued vendors who participated. Our Building Engineers' Breakfast brought a wealth of information on IAQ technologies including filtration and purification changes. Also, as an educational addition, we completed the review of obtaining the BOMA 360 certification.

As we move forward this month, we will get some clues to some of the things we all have on our minds. BOMA International's President and Chief Operating Officer, Henry H. Chamberlain, APR, FASAE, CAE, will present From Adversity Comes Greatness: The Case for Office on September 16th. We will follow up that presentation with an additional educational session, Unlocking Hidden Value in Class B/C Office Buildings, on September 30th. If you had not noticed, we have timed our events to enjoy them over a lunch break so you can make the most of your workday.

For personal enrichment, we have added a three-part educational series. Be sure that you save the dates for:

  • October 6th: Apps, Tech Tools and Tips to Time Management
  • October 20th: Emotional Resilience and Success
  • November 3rd: Communicating for a Better Customer Experience

As we have adjusted with the times, we strive to provide all our members with the resources and options to learn and network with our organization. We will continue to work to add value for our members and our industry.

And a special note to all the Property Managers...please make sure to keep moving on all your projects as budgets permit. Our BOMA Associate Members are ready for us!
