WCF Open Call for Board Candidates
These are exciting times for Whidbey Community Foundation. We’re growing and embracing the next stage of impact through relationships, trust, and community. It’s more vital than ever to have broad community participation and diverse voices at the table to help guide our grantmaking, steward the community funds entrusted to us, and lead our strategic work.

We’re pleased to announce that we’re openly seeking community members to serve on our Board of Directors. This opportunity is a great way to inspire local philanthropy and support the Whidbey community you love. Please consider whether this may be a good fit for you, nominate yourself, and help us spread the word to your networks!
Introducing the 2021 Holiday Sculpture: Penguin Pair

The Holiday Sculpture Fund is a gift to our community from renowned sculptor Georgia Gerber and her husband, Randy Hudson. This year’s offering is modeled on a larger sculpture of two King Penguins Georgia created in 2008.

If you would like to become a collector, or add to your growing collection, your donation will be made to Whidbey Community Foundation. Georgia and Randy will work with WCF to decide where to direct the proceeds.
Giving back is good for business.

Whidbey Community Foundation is supported by a broad base of individuals, families, corporations, and institutions all connected by the desire to improve our Island.

With our growing portfolio of funds, WCF acts as a center for charitable giving to the community. This means we can support the arts, advance conservation efforts, expand literacy, improve health, promote early learning, and support other meaningful causes on Whidbey Island.

But we couldn’t do the work we do for Whidbey Island without the help of our generous community!

Powerful Partnerships

Puget Sound Energy is excited to announce the 2022 Powerful Partnership Application is now open!

This standard is part of what makes the Pacific Northwest a great place to live, work and play. We realize there are local non-profits working toward a similar goal, and we want to help you in your efforts. One way we do that is through PSE Powerful Partnerships.

Let's Go Legal! Getting on the Right Road to Compliance and Protection
Wednesday, November 17, 2021
12:00PM - 1:30PM
Hosted online through Washington Nonprofits

Let's Go Legal covers the five main topics board members need to know: State Law, Federal Law, Fundraising, Employment, and Intellectual Property. Let's Go Legal shows how your organization is like a car. You need to register it with the state, driving on federal roads involves an additional set of rules, you need fuel to move your car forward (that's the money part), the people in the car matter, and the look and feel of your car make it special. It covers what you need to know about each of these topics and provides an easy checklist to make sure your organization covers it all.

We will take some deeper dives into nonprofit law topics along the way: by-laws and how to use them to strengthen your board practice, advocacy and ways to grow your mission within the public sector.
