Thank you for responding to our parent survey. Your feedback will help us understand how to provide the best learning experience possible for your children during this less-than-ideal time. The administrative team, teachers, and I are currently reviewing the results, and I will share an overview and an update about our planned changes based on your feedback soon.
In order to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, which is May 4-8, I am organizing a special surprise for all of the Dorchester teachers. The most rewarding part of a teacher's role is getting to interact with students, see their smiling faces, and watch them learn and grow. During remote learning, our teachers miss getting these experiences. I invite you and your children to post a short Flip Grid video with an uplifting message thanking the teachers at https://flipgrid.com/f88ecd4e or by scanning the QR code below on your phone or tablet. You can mention specific teachers by name (don't forget the special areas and aides!), share memories from remote learning or the rest of the school year, or simply give a shout out to all of the staff. For these video messages, you are welcome to take part with your children to create the video as a family or have your children speak on their own. However you choose to share, please remember that all Dorchester families and teachers will have access to view what you post.
If you choose to participate, please post a video by Monday, May 4, when I will then share the links with the teachers. Thank you in advance for your help in providing a little sunshine for the Dorchester teachers.
