NEW: Fall Meeting Summary

The 2021 NAIA Fall Meetings took place virtually on October 4-5. The Council of Presidents, Athletic Directors Association, and the Conference Commissioners Association all met. Details from all the meetings can be found in the 2021 Fall Meetings Summary.
NEW: Accepting Nominations for Senior Football Classic

Nominations for the Senior Football Classic are now open. Please follow this link to nominate any deserving football athlete who is currently in their final season of eligibility. The game will take place on Friday, December 17 in Durham, North Carolina in conjunction with the 2021 NAIA Football Championship. If you have any questions, please email lthomson@naia.org.
NEW: Add Your Institution's Majors

There is a new feature in NAIAHelp, allowing schools to input the majors offered at each institution. This function will allow prospective student-athletes to search for their future school based on both field of student and sport preferences.
 
To add this information:
  • Go to NAIAHelp.
  • On the left hand column, go to the Institutional Information heading.
  • Underneath the heading, select the view/edit information. 
  • The list of majors will then be at the bottom of your screen to select.

NEW: NAIA "Mission Moments" Video

As part of the 2021-24 Strategic Plan, the NAIA is highlighting the association's mission, purpose and core values in action, with a focus on how our members are making an impact on their campuses and communities.

The first mission moment shows the partnership between two NAIA institutions -- Loyola and Faulkner, both in Louisiana -- after Hurricane Ida caused widespread damage.
NEW: MOAA Offering Two, $1,000 Grants

The Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) has launched the 8th Annual MOAA Founders' Professional Development Grant to assist members with their attendance to the MOAA Symposium during the NACDA & Affiliates Convention Week.
In an effort to support the development of its members in accordance with the mission and objectives of the Association, MOAA is proud to offer two grants to MOAA members, each in the amount of $1,000. The grant recipient will be reimbursed for travel, lodging and registration expenses up to a maximum of $1,000.
The nomination deadline is November 12.

At the NAIA Fall Meetings last week, the Council of Presidents voted to absorb the current Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) Respect, Inclusivity, Support and Education (RISE) group and the NAIA's Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion into a more broadly focused committee, now titled NAIA RISE.

NEW: Sept. 2021 PlayNAIA Enhancements

The PlayNAIA site will be unavailable from 6-10 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, for an enhancement release. If you encounter problems following the deployment, please be sure to let us know. You can review a list of the enhancements being made through the release notes, which are also accessible from your Resources page.

NEW: Staff Training Closure

The eligibility center will be closed on Thursday, October 28 for a staff training. Thank you for allowing us this time to debrief on the fall peak and recommit to excellence moving forward.
 
NEW: EC Overview Webinar

The NAIA Eligibility Center is hosting a webinar for new members, new campus staff and those wanting a refresher on the EC on Wednesday, November 3, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (CT). Attendees will learn about PlayNAIA processes and navigating the website including: student registration, how to navigate student eligibility, using the NAIA Registrar Portal, and more. NEW: Decision Term Display

As a reminder, the term for determination changed from fall 2021 to spring 2022 on October 1. Students who register after October 1 have spring 2022 displayed as their term for decision by default. These students will have the opportunity to change their term for determination to fall 2021 decision once their review begins. While their profile will continue to read spring 2022, the updated term for decision will be display on the student’s final decision.
NEW: EC by the Numbers

The following numbers reflect the eligibility center’s processing status as of October 11, 2021.
  • About 10,829 students are currently within the eligibility process*.
  • 43,200 students have begun registration for the 2021-22 academic year so far, 32,371 of whom have already received a decision.
*This includes students who have registered but not yet submitted their profiles, need to make payment, are in line for review and students whose reviews are currently underway.
 
For the past two weeks:
All (domestic and international) freshmen without a break.
  • We are issuing decisions for these students in an average of 0.17 business days from their ready date.
  • We are currently working on freshmen students without a break who became ready on 10/11/2021.
Domestic students with a break and transfers
  • We are issuing decisions for these students in an average of 12.32 business days from their ready date.
  • We are currently working on break/transfer students who became ready on 10/6/2021.
International students with a break and transfers
  • We are issuing decisions for these students in an average of 12.36 business days from their ready date.
  • We are currently working on international break/transfer students who became ready on 10/1/2021.
