NIMH Instrumentation Program

The NIMH Instrumentation Program (S10) encourages applications from NIH funded investigators that conduct mental health-related research to purchase or upgrade a single commercially available instrument or a group of components to create an instrument that is not commercially available. 

If you are interested in applying for this grant, please fill out this NIMH S10 application form and return it to ecor@mgh.harvard.edu by Wednesday, September 7, 2022We encourage applicants to continue working on their NIH application while ECOR reviews your internal LOI.  

The NIH deadline for applications is October 7, 2022, so we would greatly appreciate your notification of interest as soon as possible.

Coordinating Center for the NICHD Population Dynamics Centers Research Infrastructure Program FY 2023 (R24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) The purpose of this funding announcement is to support a coordinating center for the NICHD Population Dynamics Centers Research Infrastructure Program (PDRIP).

NEW! Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) (R25 – Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed) The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of this R25 program is to support educational activities that encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, to pursue further studies or careers in research.

If you have a GraphPad Prism license through the Research Computing Core, it's time to renew. Annual licenses expire each year on August 31st, but the new license is available now! To prevent a break in service, request a software license through the ERIS Research Computing Core Service Catalog. The annual fee is $40/license. More information about Prism, and other software offerings are on the ERIS Research Computing Core site.
LabArchives Summer Maintenance
The LabArchives servers in the US will be updated beginning 12 AM, Sunday, August 14th. It is estimated that this will last 3 hours during which none of the LabArchives services (ELN, Inventory, or Scheduler) will be available on the US server only. In-app messages will be posted for users so they can plan accordingly. All services will be available on the UK, EU, and Australian servers during those 3 hours.
ChemDraw licenses are offered at a discounted rate through the ERIS Research Computing Core. ChemDraw is a powerful, yet easy-to use, tool for producing chemical and biological drawings. You can create your own drawings or use those provided in the library of available templates. This is a subscription service with an annual fee, which must be renewed each May 19th, to continue access. Once ordering you will receive an email with installation instructions (new users) or an activation code (renewals). Request through the ERIS Research Computing Core Service Catalog.
licenses are available at a discounted rate through the Research Computing Core. BioRender is a web application that can be used to create scientific figures, diagrams, and illustrations from a scientifically accurate image library, all in a matter of minutes. Using a simple drag and drop model, BioRender will save you time, so you can focus more on the science and less on illustration. BioRender requires no installation and you may log into your account on any computer, to access the BioRender portal. Nutrition Obesity Research Center at Harvard Mentoring for Inclusion and Diversity Award

The Nutrition Obesity Research Center at Harvard is delighted to announce the 3rd annual NORCH Mentoring for Inclusion and Diversity Award which recognizes faculty member who has provided meaningful sustained mentorship to young URM investigators in the fields of nutrition, obesity, and metabolism. All young investigators who identify themselves as an Underrepresented Minority are eligible to nominate their mentor(s). The mentor(s) should have an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health, or another Harvard institution.
The award will be announced on October 14, 2022 and will be presented at the P&F Symposium on October 20, 2022.

The Division of Clinical Research Education Unit, in collaboration with the MGH Infectious Disease Unit, and the Department of Psychiatry, is offering an intensive course, Design and Conduct of Clinical Trials (DCCT), in the fall.

The course is ideally suited for clinical fellows starting their research years, junior faculty pursuing careers in clinical research, and physicians with an interest in becoming more actively involved in clinical research.

Enrollment is limited to facilitate interaction and individual attention. To ensure placement in the course, early application is recommended. All applications will be reviewed after the August 26th deadline.
