The Library is thrilled to announce another partnership with Operation Warm! This time we are giving away 120 pairs of brand-new sneakers (sizes 7 TDLR to 4 KIDS) to children in need.

On July 1, 1917 the tensions which had built up over crowded housing, low wages, and racial tensions in East St. Louis, Illinois resulted in the destruction of the African-American Community by a mob estimated at 10,000. Over 100 African-Americans were killed and over 25 whites were killed. This dark day in American history must be revisited and discussed to find out what happened and to make sure it does not happen again.

  • Starting June 14, the Friends will sell NEW children’s books, movies, music CDs, and paperback books in front of the Just Between Friends Shop located inside the library.
  • WE NEED HELP!!! The Friends are seeking volunteers to help in the Shop to sort and price books. If interested in volunteering, contact the Friends.
BOOK DONATIONS
Starting June 14 the Friends will accept 6 - 10 donated books per person. Due to volunteer and space limitations, this donation limit will be in effect for the near term.
