City Offices Closed & Sanitation Changes
Boca Raton City Hall. City offices closed.
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, City offices and services will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2021.


Sanitation Schedule Changes
There will be no sanitation service on Monday, January 18.

  • Monday, Jan. 18 collection will be a day LATER on Tuesday, Jan. 19
  • Tuesday, Jan. 19 collection will be a day LATER on Wednesday, Jan. 20

Recreational Facilities
All parks, beaches, beachfront parks and playgrounds are open with regular hours.

The following recreational facilities have amended hours for Monday, January 18, 2021: 


  • The Swim Center | 7:30am - 5pm
  • Meadows Park Pool | 10am - 5pm
  • The Racquet Center | 7:30am - 10pm
  • Boca Raton Tennis Center | 8am - 9pm
  • Patch Reef Park Tennis Center | 7:30am - 10pm
  • Tim Huxhold Skate Park & Shuffleboard Courts | 1pm - 5pm
  • Alan C. Alford Red Reef Family Golf Course | 7:30am - Sunset
  • Boca Raton Municipal Golf Course | 7am - Sunset
  • Downtown & Spanish River Libraries | CLOSED
  • Sugar Sand Community Center | 10am - 5pm
  • Boca Raton Community Center | CLOSED
  • James A. Rutherford Community Center | CLOSED

Visitors should wear facial coverings when social distancing cannot be maintained and are encouraged to practice safety and hygiene as recommended by the CDC and Florida Department of Health.

Playgrounds and park facilities will be for "use at your own risk." Visitors should be prepared with hand sanitizer and other necessary cleaning wipes to ensure little hands are cleaned before and after play.
MLK Jr. Day Virtual Ceremony

Join the City on Monday, January 18 for a Virtual Celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Virtual Ceremony | 10am - 11am
The celebration begins with a Virtual Ceremony from 10am - 11am featuring live musical and dance performances, speeches by local leaders including Mayor Scott Singer, and a special presentation of the Humanitarian Award.

Special Virtual Story Time | 1pm
Join the Boca Raton Public Library on their Facebook page @BocaLibrary for a virtual story time with Martin's Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., by Doreen Rappaport, winner of the Caldecott Honor and Coretta Scott King Book Awards.

"Unity in the Community" Activity Bags | Tuesday, Jan. 19 - Saturday, Jan. 23
Pick up a special FREE giveaway bag for children ages 5 - 12 filled with activities and other goodies in honor of the holiday. You can pick up the bag at the front desk of the Boca Raton Community Center (150 Crawford Blvd) 9am - 4pm daily.
