Wednesday Evening Lenten Worship at 7:00pm, through March 24th

With all we are living through together—the unmasking of the prevalence of white supremacy, COVID, pastoral transition, and with the hurt and illness that can come with daily living, we long for healing. We will enter into biblical stories of healing and let the music of Holden Evening Prayer wash over us. The bulletin can be found here.

LIVE Contemplative Prayer and Music

LIVE Lenten Contemplative
Music and Prayer
Sunday, March 7, at 6:51pm

On Sunday, March 7 at 6:51pm, Pilgrim will host our first event in the sanctuary with a live congregation since March 2020. Paul Stever will play music by Howells (Psalm Prelude inspired by Psalm 23:4, on organ), Beethoven (sonata excerpts on piano), and Barber (Adagio for strings, on organ), with total duration of about 30 minutes. In order to minimize risks of gathering together, there will be no speaking, singing, or vocalization of any kind at this event, except a few brief welcoming words from Paul. The singing bowl will be rung at several points and those in attendance are encouraged to observe a time of contemplative prayer throughout, although applause may be received after the final selection. Families and individuals will be seated at least 6 feet apart from those outside your household and masks are, of course, required for the duration (Paul will not remove his mask at any point either). Please enter by the main sanctuary door, off St. Clair (this will likely be the only door unlocked when you arrive) and ushers will direct you to leave via one of the Prior Ave doors. Everyone who wishes to come in person must sign up ahead of time (no walk-ins allowed), through the link below. You may also listen on Facebook live.
~Paul Stever
