Professional development series in leadership begins Sept. 22; discount available
Returning this fall, the Leadership Program for STEM Professionals is a six workshop series covering basic and advanced concepts of self-development, building teams and getting results. Participants who register by 5 p.m. Aug. 31 will receive a $500 discount.
2022 Urban Food Systems Symposium focuses on building coalitions for a changing world
The 2022 Urban Food Systems Symposium is Sept. 26-29 in Kansas City, Missouri. It brings together professionals to share how to build coalitions, adapt to a changing world and discuss how urban food systems contribute to these solutions.

Students grow their knowledge in the Willie and the Salad Bonanza Contest
Willie and the Salad Bonanza Contest returns this fall. The annual scientific contest challenges K-12 students are challenged to grow the largest quantity of select leafy greens from seeds in a single container during a 45-day time span. Registration is open until Sept. 21. Ready? Set? Grow!

New faculty
Douglas Shane, Ph.D., D.V.M., joined as a teaching assistant professor of animal health. Shane, who has a background in data analytics and clinical development, will instruct graduate-level courses to students in animal health degree and certificate programs and master's programs with animal health tracks.

The K-State Alumni Association recently held a welcome reception for Ben Wolfe, dean and CEO, at K-State Olathe. KC area alumni met with Wolfe and learned about his vision for the campus.
Ben Wolfe, dean and CEO, and staff and faculty at K-State Olathe welcome members of KCAS Bioanalytical and Biomarker Services during a luncheon. K-State Olathe and KCAS plan several collaborations, including an entry-level lab skills workshop for students in early 2023.
