Little Free Libraries program expands county-wide
New Castle County's Little Free Library program has expanded county-wide with hundreds of new little free libraries picked up from the New Castle County Government Center on Saturday morning. The program piloted with two dozen little free libraries provided in the Fall in collaboration with Councilwoman Dee Durham and expanded to through an application process to over 200 neighborhoods around the county. To see video from the pickup event, CLICK HERE.
Special arrangements being made for sewer payments due
County Executive Matt Meyer and Chief Financial Officer Michael Smith want to remind taxpayers that they can make their sewer fee payments online without a fee and that while the County Government Center is closed to the public, a secure drop box is conveniently set up outside where tax payers are welcome to drop off their payments without having to leave their car. Now is the time! Apply to the New Castle County Scholarship Program
New Castle County is kicking off the annual New Castle County Scholarship program's 2021 application period. Traditional and non-traditional students who are enrolled in, or will attend, an accredited college or university in the fall of 2021 are encouraged to apply. To be eligible students must reside in New Castle County (including municipalities) and demonstrate financial need. To learn more about the scholarship program, CLICK HERE.
County continues offering pop-up testing sites next week
New Castle County will continue offering regular pop-up testing sites across the county, in addition to regular testing sites operated by the State of Delaware. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are free, quick, easy and painless. Results are usually returned in 24-48 hours.
