PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear St. George Parents,

As we close out this school year, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize every single student, teacher, and parent for your accomplishments this year. I am truly grateful for your commitment to St. George, your support of St. George, and your willingness to accept the changes and the challenges this year presented. We survived hurricanes, snow and ice, floods, and a global pandemic! I am most thankful for those who chose to shine through the darkness and be a light for others. Your focus on the positive and faith in God was an inspiration to me and those around you. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all. I pray you have a safe and restful summer and I look forward to seeing you in August.

Mrs. Fontenot
Principal

Athletic Dragon News
The athletic department was very excited and happy to be able to bring some sports back to school this year. Thank you to Mrs. Fontenot and the administration for their trust and support in allowing sports to safely resume on campus. Thank you to all the parents for your patience and cooperation as we all had to navigate through this different sports season. And most importantly thank you to the Athletic Board and all of the coaches who so generously donated so much of their time making the season successful for the kids!! I hope and pray that next school year will see more kids on the fields and courts growing and learning in the sports they love.
GO DRAGONS!!

What is the Home & School Association Board?

The Home & School Association Board is made up of volunteers who are working or stay at home parents of children enrolled at St. George Catholic School. Our goal is to encourage a channel of communication and interchange among parents, teachers and the administrative staff while supporting the school through planned activities, social functions and fundraisers. Some of the activities and events we coordinate include Grandparent's Day, Teacher Appreciation Week and Spirit Day. As a team, we enjoy helping our school and having the opportunities to meet new parents. If you have more questions about Home & School, please feel free to contact Jenny Vargas at jlewisvargas2210@gmail.com

See details for each available position below:
Vice President - The Vice-President shall act as program coordinator for general membership meetings. In either the absence or the resignation of the President, the Vice-President shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the President. In the event of a fundraiser, he/she shall be responsible for the coordination of the fundraiser.

Typically, the Vice-President would have served in another position on the board (for at least one year) before assuming the position of VP. The VP should then serve at least one year as VP and be willing to take over as President the following year.

This year, our current VP is rolling off of the board, therefore, the VP position needs to be filled. The new VP will be in the position of VP for the 2021-22 school year and will assume the position of President for 2022-23 and the 2023-24 school years.

Assistant Special Events Coordinator (2) positions - The Assistants to the Special Event Coordinators shall assist the Special Event Coordinators in all capacities for one year and assume office as Special Event Coordinator the following year. Special Events Coordinators and Assistants plan and coordinate events throughout the year such as Grandparents Day and Teacher Appreciation. These coordinators will work with the Board and Administration to plan any other special events throughout the year. If you have any questions about this position, you are welcome to contact the current Special Events Coordinators, Jesse Lambert at jessewlambert@gmail.com or Jessica Valenti at jessicavalenti@hotmail.com

Assistant Volunteer Coordinator - The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator shall assist the Volunteer Coordinator in all capacities for one year and assume office of Volunteer Coordinator the following year. The Volunteer Coordinator and Assistant Volunteer Coordinator select room parents for each grade. He/she shall facilitate volunteer assignments, and shall inform room parents of their duties by a folder which shall be revised yearly. If you have questions about this position, you are welcome to contact the current Volunteer Coordinator, LeighAnn Jordan at lgjordan2@gmail.com.

In the event there are several candidates for each position, each candidate will be notified and listed on a ballot for the members of Home & School (all parents) to vote.
