Caring Through the Crisis
CPI is Helping those in Need here in the USA & Overseas
Last month's newsletter contained reports of how Caring Partners was providing PPE supplies to first responders and front line workers in the USA. Our ministry has continued those efforts into April, but by God's grace, we've also been able to support those in need in Guatemala.

On March 13, Guatemala confirmed its first case of COVID-19, and the government has taken drastic measures to prevent the spread of the virus, including closing borders, declaring a nationwide curfew from 4 PM to 4 AM each day, and banning travel between the cities of the country. And then on Monday, April 12, the government declared that face masks must be worn by all Guatemalans outside of their homes.

CPI National Directors Helmuth & Olga Marroquin sprang into action. Knowing that the average Guatemalan might not be able to afford to purchase masks, Helmuth & Olga contacted Vine International, a Guatemalan CPI ministry partner, in order to receive donated masks. Helmuth & Olga then visited several of CPI's church partners in Veramina, Los Dolores, Cuilapa & Fraijanes el Cerrito to bless their communities with the donations.

On the way to Cuilapa, the police stopped Helmuth & Olga's vehicle. When the police discovered the purpose of their mission of mercy, they asked Helmuth & Olga if they had some masks for them, as they had none. Helmuth & Olga were able to provide the masks to the local policemen, and pray for God's safety for them as they faithfully serve their local communities.

Many times during their journeys, Helmuth & Olga traveled through security check-points, where they were stopped, and their vehicle was checked and disinfected. Helmuth & Olga shared with us that these security points gave them even more opportunities to donate masks, to pray with people, and to share the hope of the Gospel message. We praise God for open doors even during this time of crisis!

“And I, if I be lifted up from the Earth, will draw all men unto me." John 12:30

Pray Without Ceasing 1 Th 5:17

Caring Partners has been supplying more and more of our church partners with healthcare relief supplies during the Covid-19 crisis. Please pray with our ministry that God will provide more consistent donors of personal care products and non-perhishable food that CPI in turn can donate to our church partners for their food pantries and local mission outreach.

Our warehouse mission team is preparing a shipment of medical & first aid supplies to be shipped to Guatemala for our National Directors to distribute to our church partners. Please pray God will provide all the items needed for this shipment, that the shipment will clear customs quickly, and our Guatemalan church partners can use these materials to minister to the physical & spiritual needs of their local communities.

Please join our CPI leadership team in prayer that through this time of uncertainty, fear & suffering, that the Lord will heal & comfort the sick, that He will be lifted up, and the hope of the Gospel message will spread throughout this world, to His glory!
