prayer initiative .

SouthField Family,

We started 2020 with Twenty-One Days of Fasting and Prayer. It proved to be a powerful season of community. One feature that united us was knowing that we were praying together on the 20's of every hour. We were never alone in our prayers.

Yesterday our Governor made it official. We will not be gathering in April. That does not mean we cannot experience tremendous togetherness! We can do what the church does best, and what only the church can do. In our month physically separated, let's unite our hearts in a great prayer effort! Recently Shellie said, "You know what we should do? We should pray on the 19's!"

What a great idea! I'm in, are you?

Over the last couple days, the virus has started to hit home. There are cases in our community. Many of our front-line warriors have been exposed to COVID-19.  Throughout April, for these thirty days, we need to pray like only God can make the difference. Let's cry out to God on behalf of those infected, as well as those who are there to help. Let's pray for our world, for our nation , for our leaders. Let's humble ourselves and ask for God's forgiveness. Let's join hearts to determine  to refuse to go back to our old ways. Let's pray that God uses this crisis to bring wandering hearts home to Him! Let's cry out to God for a great spiritual awakening.

We will start by lifting up first responders. We have collected a list of SouthFielders who are in the harmful path of this virus. I'm sure we will add a few more in days to come. Let's pray for their protection, for the safety of their families and for their health: physical, emotional, spiritual. Pray that God would give them deep rest on short hours of sleep. Pray as they have to make critical decisions in uncharted territory with limited resources.

I need to add, in email after email, those who submitted the names below expressed deep gratitude for being remembered. You can minister to them in a big way by bringing them to God every hour.

Here's how you can join us:
1. Decide your choosing method. You might pray for the same person all day long, or a different one each hour. You might pray the whole list every hour, or work through it in a day. You could pray for an occupation today and a different one tomorrow, or a different one each hour. Pray as God leads you.
2. Pray on as many 19's as you can throughout the day . If God wakes you in the night, pray!
3. Pray, really pray! The need is desperate. Only God can make a difference!
4. If you know the person or family, message them. Let them know you're praying.

We're together in this! How encouraging to know that we are together on the 19's. Next Sunday I will share other aspects of our April Prayer Initiative. Let's start here. These folks and their families are feeling the pressure in a big way right now!

If you're in, hit reply and let me know you'll be joining me on the 19s!

Thanks so much for praying with me,

Dennis
