Camp Refunds
We understand that many in our community must make increased considerations with financial commitments. To help our Scouting families in this time of uncertainty, we have made adjustments to our refund policy.

  • If any of our camps are unable to open this summer, we will issue full refunds on registrations.

  • Should a family pay for camp and then feel unconformable sending their Scout to camp, they have have until June 15th, 2020 to notify Ann Murphy at council to receive a 100% refund on fees paid. All refund requests must be made in writing.

  • After June 15th, refer to the Camp's individual leader's guide for their refund policy. A summary of all our camps' refund policies can be found here.

We are hoping our updated policies will help ease any concern or hesitation towards committing to Summer Camp. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to any member of our Camp Department.
Increased Precautions: Before Camp
A healthy camp begins and ends at home. Here are recommendations from the American Camp Association (ACA) for Scouts before they leave for summer camp. The following are some of the increased precautions we will be taking in camps before the arrival of campers.

  • If a leader or Scout is considered high risk for illness, we recommend consulting with a health care provider before attending camp to discuss the camp environment.
  • Upon arrival, camps will conduct an initial health assessment of both campers and staff that will include screening for communicable diseases.
  • Every NNJC camp will be outfitted with new forehead thermometers, and will screen everyone entering/returning to camp property.

  • We are aware that individuals may experience some difficulties in completing their medical forms due to limited health care provider availability. The National Council is carefully evaluating all options to overcome this challenge. NNJC will provide additional information as we continue to receive updates from the National office.

Increased Precautions: During Camp
  • Camp Staff will have an orientation on strategies to help reduce illness at camp and will be evaluated on these practices throughout the summer. The cleaning procedures we follow can be found here.

  • Sanitation equipment will be provided in all campsites, program areas, and other highly trafficked zones throughout camp.

  • As always, culture of hand-washing and /or sanitizing will be promoted throughout the camp.

  • Dining Halls will make adjustments according to social distancing recommendations during the time of camp. This may include additional dining shifts to reduce capacity, and any other guidelines set by the State Health Department.

  • Visitor restrictions may be implemented to help ensure the safety of our campers and staff. This may impact family visits and programs during the week.
