Last week, Adobe released a detailed white paper on how to optimize Premiere Pro for episodic and feature film editing. I have an interview with the authors in process, but want to tell you about this new resource this week. I've read the first 50 pages so far and it is outstanding. Filmworkz (formerly Digital Vision) announced version 2022.1 of Filmworkz. The latest version includes a large number of bug fixes, a new matte behavior and a full update of the ILM EXR library. The next release will include a full update of the Avid codecs, improving handling of the DNX family of codecs and MXF support, and a new DVO tool - Frame Lock - that helps restoration users to stabilize film scans.
Avid Technology and Amazon Studios announced a three-year agreement to bring cloud-based editorial to Amazon Studios’ expanding slate of more than 300 original movies and series. Creative teams will get the same experience and performance as an on-premises editorial bay—including collaborative workflows with shared storage and end-to-end media management.

Marshall Electronics announced the release of the CV420e, it’s first-ever digital PTZ (ePTZ) camera. The CV420e features a high performance 9 1/2 Megapixel 4K sensor capable of 4K (UHD) resolution up to 60fps. The camera’s 4.5mm lens features a wide angle, over 100-degree field of view that delivers crystal clear video with minimal distortion.
DPA is highlighting its 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Microphone, which can also serve as a boom mic for broadcast applications. Two important mic solutions ideal for televised live event productions, the 4466 CORE Omnidirectional and 4488 CORE Directional Headset Microphones and the 4055 Kick Drum Mic, will also be featured on the show floor.
