City of Canada Bay Libraries 

A lot of us are working from home, and this might be a first for many of us. You may be a parent who has to balance not only work life, but also home life and home school. Maybe you have concerns about being home with your siblings, roommate, partner or parents 24/7. Or maybe you live alone and are worried about your wellbeing over the next few weeks. There is no need to panic. There are ways you can avoid going stir-crazy including setting up a good work space or encouraging constant conversation with your team. Get tips on what you can do to stay productive while working from home, and maintain your own wellbeing.

Scratch is a browser-based coding platform designed for kids.  Also check out Scratch Junior for ages 5-7.

Make amazing games, silly animations, and share your work with an online community.  It's a creative, collaborative, and easy way to get into programming.

eMagazine for youth ages 12-19

Check out this funky and exciting online magazine for young adults now available through remote access! It includes awesome multimedia content such as writing, book reviews, short films, music, art, photography and so much more.

HackSpace magazine features electronics, coding and 3D printing projects to inspire.  This month's magazine features an article with 3D printing tips and tricks and how to hack an Xbox 360 controller.  HackSpace magazine can be read for free as a PDF.

3D Print Club


Last week we had a look at the 3D modelling software, Fusion 360. This week we'll help you nerd up on the best available 3D printers on the market. Do you have a computer, smartphone or tablet that you'd like to learn to use a bit better? Or a new one that you'd like to learn how to set up? Try the tutorials from Be Connected, a resource set up by the Federal Government to help everyone get online. Did you know you can add a review at the bottom of every title in our Spydus catalogue? Help others with recommendations and find recommended titles by others! Feel free to add just a star review or write a full review.
Library Services
  • Overdue fines are currently on hold
  • Extended loan periods and renewals for existing loans
  • After hours return chutes remain open to enable items to be returned at Concord and Five Dock Libraries
  • Home Library service continued with increased social distancing and sanitation of items for delivery
  • Phone calls and email enquiries can be made weekdays between 9am and 5pm
  • Stay home and stay calm!
