Stimulus Passes, Heads to President's Desk
Moments ago, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Rescue Plan, by a vote of 220-211, sending the legislation to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed into law on Friday. The bill contains many provisions AHLA has advocated for to help put the hotel industry on a path toward recovery, including:

  • Additional funds to support the hardest hit small businesses including Travel and Tourism;
  • $7.5 billion in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding;
  • $160 billion to fight the pandemic and vaccinate individuals so travel can resume; and
  • An extension of the employee retention tax credit.

Unfortunately, the legislation did not contain any industry-specific relief and AHLA will continue to advocate for the businesses and workers most affected by this crisis.

AHLA members looking for more information how the American Rescue Plan impacts the hotel industry can tune in to tomorrow’s exclusive edition of Hotel Lobby Live with AHLA President & CEO Chip Rogers and AHLA’s Government Affairs experts.
