REMINDER: Many students on campus will require their regular two-week COVID test to return to campus next week. Students were encouraged to get tested on campus on Tuesday and Wednesday, but if they missed those dates or didn't register, they are free to secure a COVID test elsewhere prior to next week.
COVID Testing will be provided by COVID Testing Today on-campus every Tuesday and Wednesday until June 2.

Students are required to be tested once every two weeks and competing athletes may be required to test weekly or at more frequent intervals prior to competitions.

Please be sure to register and sign up for COVID tests as needed to comply with recurring testing expectations.
Greetings Huskies,

In spite of all of the difficulties of the past year, the spirit of service learning remains strong with our students. In the midst of a pandemic, our students are creating artwork, videos, and even paracord bracelets for nonprofits, peer mentoring and peer tutoring, teaching swimming and riding to area youth, and earning Presidential Service Awards (Silver AND Gold) for their efforts. Sincere kudos to all our students who continue to give back amidst all the challenges they face.

Three projects that students took on are of particular note. Last spring, Ben Franz (‘20) used his Eagle Scout Project to upgrade the Nature Trail that flows through the east end of the campus. Ben completely reworked the trail, adding new landscaping, wooden borders to the trail's edge, new surface materials, and cutting back on overgrowth. This spring, Pierce Blackman (‘22) is following Ben’s lead by dedicating his Eagle Scout Project to construct a “GaGa Ball Pit” on the Gaudenti Field for students to use during recess and lunch breaks. This fast-paced, dodgeball-style game is a big hit among our students. To help support Pierce’s project, please visit our website at http://rollinghillsprep.org and go to the Giving Page (link below).
Once on the giving page, they will select Make a Gift and complete the following:
  • Gift Amount
  • Designation
  • Click on the drop-down box to see a list of funds. Choose the fund titled "Fundraising Gaga Project"
  • Payment Details
  • Billing Address
  • Special Instructions for the Annual Report and Matching Gifts

When you finish inputting the above information, select "Donate" to make the gift.

Lastly, Hannah Gold (‘22), a former student currently a junior at Groton School in Massachusetts, is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award and will install a small bookstand on campus, “an innovative solution to improve book access and make reading a part of people’s lives in a sustainable way.” (Hannah’s words!). Look for Hannah’s micro-library on campus next fall.

We are thrilled that our students, past and present, illustrate their commitment to sound character in such a humbling way, and are thankful that so in our community are finding ways to make the world a better place.

All the best,

David

Thank You for Supporting the Grill and Chill Gala!
This past Saturday we shared a great night with the community as many of us participated in the Grill & Chill Gala – Home Edition. Our goal was to enjoy a night of celebration and togetherness, while also doing a little bit of fundraising in the process. We did just that! We muddled and chilled, chopped and grilled and it was a ton of fun! We want to thank the Husky Community for helping make the evening a huge success. Whether you attended the event, shopped at our Silent Auction, contributed to a Class Basket or helped behind the scenes, we couldn’t have had such a successful event without your support!

"I’m learning to embrace change, as hard as it might be. Especially with one of our biggest changes coming up, college. I have no idea what college is going to bring me but I’m embracing it and starting to get a little excited about it. It’s a big step but I know that I am going to land where I’m supposed to be."
Macey Caron

"By reframing my perspective, I realized three things: I am not a quitter, but a fighter. I am not overly sensitive, but empathetic. And lastly, I am not broken, just bent in a beautiful way. The aftermath of pain is transformative."
