Where is Jesus?

Mary and Joseph had been to the temple in Jerusalem. On their way home, after a day's travel, they realized they hadn't seen Jesus since they'd left. Looking through the crowd they were traveling with, they found he wasn't there. They returned to Jerusalem and, after a few days, found him in the temple. They were a bit put out with Jesus for putting them throught the anxiety of looking for them, but he didn't seem to understand. Of course he would be in his father's house. “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” Luke 2:49.

Is there a place where people would be sure to find you? Where is your favorite place? For me it is a tiny village on a beautiful lake in northwest Michigan. If you are looking for me the later half of July, I'd say, "Didn't you know I had to be in my Lake House?"

Where do you feel close to God? Do you have a place in your home where you meet regularly with God? Is it in a park nearby under a canopy of trees? Is there a special place in the church that you feel closest to him? Jesus chose to seek God and spend time with him whether it was at the temple or off alone in the hills above Galilee. The relationship with his father was important to him. How can we think we can get by with less?

Puppies are on my mind. Next week we will start some stories about the upcoming holiday St. Patrick's Day. But this week we will revisit a dog story we heard a while ago, Floss. This time we will be reading about Floss's son, in Just Like Floss.

Mrs. Boyce & Ms. LeAnn Malecha are inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting AT 9:00 am on THURSDAY, February 25.

God in the Morning
Ralph Spaulding Cushman

I met God in the morning
When my day was at its best,
And His presence came like sunrise,
Like a glory in my breast.

All day long the Presence lingered,
All day long He stayed with me,
And we sailed in perfect calmness
O’er a very troubled sea...

So I think I know the secret,
Learned from many a troubled way:
You must seek Him in the morning
If you want Him through the day!
