SKED has become aware of potential scams concerning the EIDL program.  Here are the facts:

1)      There is NO immediate deadline for an EIDL application

2)      There is NO cost to apply for an EIDL

3)      Do NOT pay someone to help you fill out the application - there is a lot of sensitive information contained in the application, we need to keep that information safe.

4)      Do NOT email ANYONE with sensitive information. If you get an email that looks like it comes from the SBA and is asking you to verify or provide sensitive information call 1-800-659-2955 to speak to the SBA directly.

5)      The proper place to apply for an EIDL is https://disasterloan.sba.gov/apply-for-disaster-loan/index.html

There are scammers who are trying to take advantage of business owners right now, please be extra vigilant in verifying where emails are coming from and what types of information you are sending.  If you need help or have questions you can always call or email SKED!
