Art Changes Lives
WE HAVE BEEN BUSY AS BEES!
Greetings!

We have been busy as bees - literally!

Our team has been working hard completing numerous projects, making headway with ongoing commissions, and beginning new and exciting work!

Check out the details of our recent endeavors, and our
sensational fundraiser coming up, below.

CASA GRANDE POLINATORS MURAL IS COMPLETE!

After 8 months, our mural at Casa Grande High School is finally finished!

This is a great example of our distance learning murals, the adaptation that has allowed us to continue putting art in the hands of our community throughout the pandemic.

Lead artist Alina, with the help of many apprentices and volunteers, coordinated and created 55 painting kits, which were painted by students at home from two of Ms. Richter's art classes.

Once all of the bees, butterflies and poppies were painted, it took 12 people, 4 days to install and complete the mural.

Read more about the mural in the article below!
CUSTOM MOSAICS

Our apprentices have been hard at work completing lots of mosaic stepping stones and address posts. Lead artists Gio and Alina, and creative director Jennifer, finished them up this week with a grouting party.

Twenty-five stepping stones and six posts, all custom designed and handmade. What a feat! If you are interested in a custom mosaic piece for your home, please contact us!
Mosaic is a unique skill for any artist to have, let alone a teenager! Your custom commission directly supports their training in this medium.
RVCS WINGS OF FLIGHT
Lead artist Hannah, and her apprentices Isabella and Flynn, recently finished the Wings of Flight mural for Rincon Valley Charter School. In the photo below you can see the mock up pair of wings that was made to hang at Artstart.

The pair that will be hung at the school's new campus this summer, is twice the size - a 16 foot wingspan! Both sets of wings were assembled from individual feathers, hand painted by Mrs. Friedman's art classes at home. Another distance learning mural success!
PIANO EXHIBIT IN PETALUMA

Lead artist Gio and his apprentice Zohar did a stunning job painting Artstart's contribution to the piano exhibition in Petaluma, benefiting the town's waterfront.

View Artstart's piano, among nearly 30 other painted pianos, on display in the Petaluma Art's Center main gallery.
