Message from Mayor Tom Roach
Challenges Remain .... But Brighter Days Ahead
|
|
Dear White Plains Residents,
Welcome to January and the start of a new year. I think it’s probably safe to say that we are all quite happy to turn the page on 2020. The challenges of 2020 have not completely left us yet, but I am hopeful there are brighter days ahead.
Like many of you, I am looking forward to once again being able to attend events and gatherings with friends and family. We must continue to follow the common sense advice of medical experts and public health professionals to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Our diligence with these actions now will help us in the long run.
Thank you for continuing to step up, White Plains. You’ve showed what true community means.
My best wishes for a very happy and healthy new year.

Spread Joy
Through Letters
Having a difficult day, week, month or year? (And who hasn't?) Need a pick-me-up? Then why not write a letter to an anonymous person in our community, pick up a letter, or, perhaps, do both.
Spreading Joy through Letters is the brainchild of White Plains resident Laurie Sandler.
These letters are intended for adults, but children, teens and adults are welcome to contribute. Just remember to keep your letters anonymous.
Letters will be kept in a box on a table outside the Library entrance, and letters in different languages are encouraged—just note the language on the envelope. Need some supplies? Pencils, paper, and envelopes will also be available in the box.
Spreading Joy through Letters is in loving memory of Carol Sandler, Laurie’s mother.“White Plains has so much love to give! So, let's spread it,” says Laurie.
