Jubilee Year
The 6th episode of the video on the Letter Testament presents us with the vow of Obedience. The Founder reminds us that true obedience always puts God first before any structure or organization. Obedience, for Archbishop Conforti, expresses above all a relationship of faith, abandonment, of seeking the good of the law of the Gospel, of the mission, of the charism and of the missionary family. Obedience "characterizes" and "decides" the way of being of the Xaverian, thus becoming the second factor that must distinguish him in his daily life: "... spirit of prompt, generous, constant obedience in everything and at all costs."
Scripture Classes and Discussion

Fr. Michael Davitti SX is conducting sessions to "study and pray the Bible" at the Provincial House. Participants come from Hewitt, Passaic, and Sparta. The title, "From Genesis to Jesus, a Journey through the Bible," is taken from Scripture: “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.” (Lk. 24:27)
Fr. Michael states, "We'd like to approach the Bible with the feeling of the two disciples of Emmaus, who exclaimed:'Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?' (Lk. 24:32) I wanted the meeting at our place, after having asked their pastors, because I'd like people to be more familiar with our Xaverian Religious Family."
25th WORLD DAY OF CONSECRATED LIFE - February 2, 2021
The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life has written a letter addressed to all consecrated men and women in the world on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the World Day for Consecrated Life which occurs on February 2, 2021, the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus. The letter underlines the prophetic role of consecrated men and women especially in the context of the uncertainties, fears and difficulties caused by Covid-19 Pandemic, called to be beacons of fraternity in the spirit of Christ. The message refers to the importance of the Papal Encyclical Fratelli Tutti and invites us to live its message. Read the letter in English here.

Dialogue that Crosses Faith Lines

Twelve members of faith organizations in MetroWest, including Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Holliston, work on a regular basis to make their communities more inclusive. They called it the MetroWest Interfaith Dialogue Project (MIDP).

According to Fr. Carl Chudy, Interfaith Outreach Coordinator for Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, recognizing the diversity in communities is important.

“Our hope is to the honor the religious and nonreligious diversity of our communities and neighborhoods by creating an interfaith community within communities of different faiths..." Learn more.

Where trees breathe
New life is born
Where each branch reaches out to me
I know myself held in the arms
of purest generosity
Where the leaves fall
I am blessed with a giving back
that nourishes the roots of my soul
For the trees reflect who and how I can be
Standing tall, true, honest and undeniably me
Unafraid to love, to give, to share and to bend
So I bless the forests
As I learn from them

Lent 2021 February 17 - April 4
The 2021 Lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17, for Latin-rite Catholics with Easter Sunday on April 4.

During Lent, we are asked to devote ourselves to seeking the Lord in prayer and reading Scripture, to service by giving alms, and to practice self-control through fasting. Many know of the tradition of abstaining from meat on Fridays during Lent, but we are also called to practice self-discipline and fast in other ways throughout the season. Learn more from the USCCB.
Just imagine that this Lent is going to be different from every other Lent we've experienced. Imagine that there will be many graces offered us this year. Let's even imagine that God is going to help transform our lives, with greater freedom, greater joy, and deeper desires for love and service. Learn more from Loyola Press.
