NEWS AND EVENTS
Dear Serra Parents and Guardians,

It has been a wonderful week with so many students back on campus. It is great to see all of our grades on campus as one complete Padre community. However, we are experiencing higher than anticipated daily opting in and out of in-person instruction. As a result, for the final month of school, we are closing the option to make daily choices on student learning models.

Beginning Monday, May 10, students will remain in their chosen learning model until the end of the semester. Students who have opted for in-person instruction will be expected to be on campus every day and will not be allowed to access instruction remotely. Conversely, students who have opted for distance learning will remain at home during the school day for Zoom classes. The only students allowed to access instruction remotely are those who must quarantine due to travel or exposure and those who are declared distance learning students.

In-person students who are not on campus during instruction time will be marked absent and distance learners who are not on Zoom will be marked absent.

Please understand that this policy is mandatory, as we have an obligation to maintain an accurate attendance record as well as to comply with the pandemic framework’s guidelines for contract tracing.

Students who are ill should follow the same protocols that have been in place at Serra during pre-pandemic guidelines:
Any student absence must be reported to the Attendance Office prior to the school day beginning by either calling (650) 345-8207 option 1 or by emailing [email protected].

We thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Charlie McGrath

Yearbook Submissions Needed From Senior Families for Free Ad Pages

This year the yearbook staff wants to offer something unique to each graduate in recognition of the ever-changing year they have experienced. Instead of offering paid senior ads in the back of the book, the students on staff are highlighting each senior in the senior portrait section. We are asking each family to submit photos of their graduate and to send in a message to their senior that they will see when they receive their last Serra Yearbook. Please look at the options below, upload any photos you would like shown. Please note that the larger the file size, the higher the resolution when we print. We welcome you to write a message to your graduate, and please keep the message to 50 words or less to ensure the font is large enough to read.

Students on the yearbook staff are hoping to have a 100 percent participation from all senior families! All submissions must be received by May 14, 2021 in order to be included in the yearbook.

During the month of December, we showcased Padre family-owned businesses. We had an overwhelming response to this effort and have decided to continue to showcase these businesses.

We hope this year, you'll shop local and patronize these Padre businesses!

Check out our impressive list of Padre Family businesses and if you know of any other Padre family business that are not on our list, please let us know!

Thank you for your community support and remember to shop small, shop local, shop Padre!
