For the 16th year, the TMA Philadelphia/Wilmington Chapter is pleased to be co-hosting the Mid-Atlantic Regional Symposium in Atlantic City with the New Jersey and Chesapeake Chapters. This year's Symposium will be held on June 6 & 7 at the recently refurbished Harrah's Resort.

The Symposium promises to be another must-attend event, jam-packed with interesting educational content and exciting networking activities. The Key-Note speaker at the opening luncheon will be Pauline Brown, who has acquired, built, and led the world's most influential global luxury brands over a span of her career. This includes serving as Chairman of North American operations for LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Inc.

In addition to the popular golf and skeet shooting activities, we are including a spa event at the Red Door Spa, a cooking event at the Viking Cooking school, and a pool-side Cabana with open bar - all of which are conveniently located on-site! We encourage you to take advantage of the Symposium early bird rates, which are in place until May 25! We hope you will join your colleagues and some of the area Judges for what promises to be another terrific Symposium!

The Philadelphia Chapter of the TMA continues to partner with the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Compass to create opportunities for TMA membership to volunteer on pro-bono consulting projects in the community.

As a brief history, the TMA board began developing a volunteering strategy in 2015 and a board member introduced the board to Compass, an organization that provides pro-bono consulting services to non-profits. At the time, Compass happened to be starting a Philadelphia chapter and its mission, organizational quality and work product all aligned perfectly with the strategic goals of the TMA's volunteering efforts.

The TMA board decided to initiate a partnership with Compass and since then, over a dozen TMA members have participated in Compass projects. Furthermore, multiple TMA members have taken leadership roles on Compass projects and Mathew Rotenberg of Blank Rome is now a Compass board member.

Although the projects are time-consuming, the feedback from participants has been very positive. Not only have the projects been rewarding in terms of helping the local community, TMA participants have specifically mentioned that the projects satisfy their firm's pro-bono requirements with work that is much more satisfying than other alternatives.

TMA has since expanded the volunteering effort to include financial support in the way of sponsorship, with donations in excess of $17,000 over the past three years. Applications to participate as a team member for Compass are expected to become available this summer, with applications due in the early fall. As always, all TMA members are encouraged to participate.

Participate on a general TMA Philadelphia committee. There are often opportunities to volunteer on TMA Philadelphia chapter's committees or events.

Join TMA NextGen Global. This is a TMA program that unites all TMA NextGen members from across the globe. Members routinely correspond to discuss best practices and plan NextGen presences at TMA events throughout the year.
