We Are #FairviewStrong - A Message from Superintendent Dr. Bill Wagner
During this time of uncertainty, one thing is for certain -- our teachers, staff, and students are just simply amazing. Together, we jumped all in as we heard the news of the Governor's mandated school closure on March 12.

An analogy we use with our student skills profile is how each gear works independently but is also crucial for the entire mechanism to work. The best example of this we've seen is undoubtedly how our ENTIRE staff quickly locked in to their areas of focus, and pushed forward to provide the best supports for our students as possible -- just like clockwork. Truly amazing!

Our district communications over the past several weeks have been under the banner of "A Community United", which is at the forefront of our district vision statement. And you can certainly see evidence of the latter part of that statement which is "empowering each other to "learn differently, care deeply, and aspire to excellence."

Another theme that has resonated and is trending in our community is #FairviewStrong. Regardless of the hashtag we know that when we are united together, we are stronger as a school community.

If you drive by our buildings, you'll see the signs out front that express how much we miss seeing our students in person every day. We hope that we will all be back together soon.

Dr. Bill Wagner, Superintendent

#FairviewStrong Shout-Out: Food Services Team
We would like to extend a huge shout-out to our food service team. They are absolute rockstars and have provided hundreds of meals to students since the extended school closure began. We are proud to offer delicious and nutritious meals for students who regularly rely on free or reduced school meals.

Just as a reminder, the grab-and-go meal pick-up is Tuesday, April 14. Thereafter, pick-up will be on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the back parking lot at Gilles-Sweet Elementary. Students in grades K-12 who regularly receive free or reduced-cost meals are eligible. Click here for more information and to sign up.

Athletics Update from OHSAA on Spring Sports
  • If schools are closed for the remainder of the school year, spring sports will be cancelled in Ohio.
  • The mandatory no-contact period remains in place until at least May 1. No practices or group workouts may occur through this date.
  • No-contact does not mean 'electronic' communication is not permitted. In fact, we encourage coaches to maintain correspondence, provide workouts, etc. to individuals.
  • The dates below for a spring season/tournaments are tentative. We are continuing with the Governor's optimistic direction that schools will re-open on May 4. We will adjust accordingly. However optimistic this may be, we must PLAN for the return even if that ends up changing.
  • With a current return on May 4, the following schedule has been adopted for spring sports. Specific information relative to Sectional and District Tournaments, playing dates, seeding procedures, game sites, will all be provided in communications from the respective six District Athletic Boards.
  • If for any reason specific sites are shut down due to governor's orders, ALL sites will be shut down and a tournament will not be held.
  • TENTATIVE start date for Spring practices is May 4th, with competition allowed to start on May 9th. Under this model, tournament play will begin the last week of May for Baseball and Softball and the first week of June for Track.
