Stepping Stones Seeking Artist
Stepping Stones is looking for a professional artist for its Adult Day program on Cincinnati’s West Side to help create a three-panel painted mural on canvas.

The completed project will represent a signature work of art in the lobby of the organization's new facility at 3330 Parkcrest Lane which is scheduled to open in Spring 2020. The artist will help guide the process from design through completion and work on the project will be completed by participants with oversight from the guest artist.

The agency offers year-round Adult Day Services for adult participants at three locations in Greater Cincinnati. In the Adult Day Program, participants find pathways to independence, build confidence and develop independent living skills. Participants give back to their communities through volunteering partnerships with many local nonprofits such as Matthew 25: Ministries, Ronald McDonald House, St. George Food Pantry, and New Life Furniture. The art project supports the Stepping Stones mission of promoting inclusion for individuals with disabilities and will be prominently displayed in the new space.

Program participants have created a preliminary design which incorporates these relationships. A special open house and reception is being planned to celebrate the new building, where many community leaders will be present to view the new space and artwork. Ceremonies will celebrate partnership between artist, Stepping Stones and ArtWorks.

This Guest Artist Opportunity Project offers a stipend of $500 .

Timeline: March-April 2020, weekday afternoons 12-3 pm, as artist’s schedules permit

To apply, please send resume and/or description of artist’s background and two photos or recent original artwork to Stepping Stones' Moira Grainger at moira.grainger@steppingstonesohio.org.
