What's New?
National Survey on LGBTQI Cancer Patient Experiences
Are you a cancer survivor or healthcare professional? We are fielding two surveys to better understand how lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people experience cancer continuum of care services. If you are a cancer survivor, would you take 5 minutes to complete this survey? If you are a clinical cancer care provider, would you take 10 minutes to complete this survey?

Through funding and support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the GW Cancer Center has updated the Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month toolkit! It has tips for getting started on social media and sample messaging for Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Download the toolkit today!

On February 23, the Comprehensive Cancer Control National Partnership (CCCNP) held the second session of its new effort to assist CCC coalitions and programs in addressing health inequities in cancer. Slides and a recording of a presentation by CDC's Director of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control, Lisa Richardson, MD, MPH, will soon be available here, along with details about the next session, which will be held this spring. Stay tuned for more information!

CANCER CONTROL SPOTLIGHT
National LGBT Cancer Network
The National LGBT Cancer Network is home to one of eight CDC-funded national networks implementing population-specific strategies to help decrease commercial tobacco use and related cancers. Through its Tobacco-Related Cancer Project, this national network focuses on reducing tobacco and cancer-related disparities in LGBTQ+ populations. The network provides training and technical assistance, shares best practices, evaluates inclusivity of state cancer and tobacco control programs, and creates tailored mass media messaging in partnership with state programs. In addition to the Tobacco-Related Cancer Project, the Network recently launched OUT: The National Cancer Survey, a survey of LGBTQ+ cancer survivors, the largest ever survey of this type. The survey currently has over 1,600 participants who have shared their experiences with cancer treatment. Data from the survey will be used to inform future training efforts and better support LGBTQ+ survivors. The Network is currently recruiting organizations to be promotional partners and help get the survey out as far as possible. To date, over 200 promotional partners have signed on. Interested organizations should email [email protected] for more information on becoming a survey partner.
