Giving Tuesday is Today!
United Way of the National Capital Area partnered with Giving Tuesday to unite Do More 24 and Giving Tuesday global days of giving.

This resulted in today's Do More 24 / Giving Tuesday Now to help power the community through challenging times.

Critical revenue that parks depend upon is dramatically reduced until park facilities and programs can safely reopen. Your gift to the Park Foundation today will help ensure that parks are ready for you, your family and friends.

Fairfax County park staff continue to perform essential work such as:

  • Caring and feeding of animals at Frying Pan Farm Park and Nature Centers
  • Aeration of FCPA Golf courses avoiding non-use later in the season
  • Clearing trails of litter and branches to offer safe use
  • Maintenance of RECenter pools that normally requres closures
  • Cleaning Fairfax County Park Authority facilities for safety

Please consider giving what you can - every gift to FCPF helps! Here are EASY ways to donate, many can be done remotely without direct contact.

Your support will be greatly appreciated and will help Fairfax County parks be ready to serve you in the future.

Until then, you can connect to your Fairfax County parks TODAY through the FCPA Virtual Exploration Center for fitness, nature and history! This collection of resources to help you stay healthy, connected and engaged while our parks are closed. This page will be updated regularly, so check back often for new information and ideas to help with your at-home exploration and recreation.
Fairfax County parks and Your Safety
In light of Virginia’s stay-at-home order, residents are encouraged to use trails near their homes to reduce unnecessary travel.  The health and wellbeing of our community, park visitors and staff remain our highest priority.

Visitors who choose to use our trails should adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Avoid congregating in groups.
  • Maintain a 6-foot distance between others.
  • Avoid touching shared surfaces.
  • Take trash with you.
  • Do not park illegally.
  • Wash hands frequently.

Wearing a Cloth Face Covering is also recommended by Fairfax County Government.
All Park Authority programs and events through June 10 have also been canceled. Park Authority facilities will be continuously re-evaluated. We look forward to reopening our parks as soon as it is safe to do so. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in contributing to the health and wellbeing of our entire community.

In Fairfax County, Everyone Counts!
Most of you will already have received several mailings to file the April 1, 2020 U.S. Census.

It's not too late to be counted!

Responding online, by phone or by mail helps ensure accurate funding, estimated up to $12,000 per person for your community. It will ease the work of the enumerators during these trying times.
