Message from the Principal
Dear DHS Staff, Students, and Families,

Next week is the seniors' official final week of classes at DHS! Enjoy every last moment with your friends, peers, teachers, and staff! Seniors, beyond next week, please be sure to review the Upcoming Senior Events section for important reminders about prom and graduation.

For all other students, you, too, are approaching your final days of the second semester. In the coming days, your teacher will share the final week of school plans for your class. Do not hesitate to visit the ARC (appointment details can be found online) or connect with your teacher about your progress in class.

Prom 2021 "Masquerade" tickets are on sale NOW! Ticket sales are open May 4 - May 17, $21 per person (seniors only). Seniors and parents/guardians, please see the email sent on Tuesday for more details.

Ceremony starts promptly at 5:00 pm
Stadium will open at 4:00 pm

PTO Senior Tribute Cards
Senior Tribute cards are on sale now through next friday, May 14th. Don't miss out on this great way to pay "tribute" to all the special seniors in your life and let them know how proud you are of their achievements. 

Ordering is available online or you may print the order form (Printable Tribute Card Order Form 2021) and send it in to our PTO Tribute Card committee chair, Christy Hahn. For all instructions (mail in address too) and online ordering go to https://www.dhspto.org/DeS/index.cfm (scroll down to the calendar on homepage or goto "for sale"). 

Ordering is open to all friends and family interested in sending a personalized card to graduating senior so please spread the word.

All proceeds benefit the DHS PTO.

Writing a Stand-Out College Essay
Calling all Juniors! Are you thinking about working on your college essay this summer? On Monday, May 10, the ARC will host an introductory virtual presentation on how to write a great essay. Learn what college admissions officers are looking for, review sample essays, and discover how to tackle and address the Common App and Coalition App prompts. Vaccine Clinic for All District 113 Students
In anticipation of FDA EUA approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children ages 12-15, District 113 will be offering a vaccine clinic in partnership with Walgreens. Please see today's email from Dr. Law for more details.
