FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE SHREVEPORT SYMPHONY HAS CANCELED ITS CONCERTS THROUGH EARLY MAY

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2020, SHREVEPORT, LA In acc ordance with the Governor's proclamation, the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra (SSO) made the decision last Friday to suspend our March concerts. Based on current CDC guidelines announced this past weekend, the SSO is now also suspending the Masterworks concert scheduled on May 2, 2020, and the Family concert scheduled for May 3, 2020.

While it may be possible to reschedule the Family concert at a later date in May, it is unfortunately not possible to reschedule the Masterworks concert. Thus, the following four Shreveport Symphony Orchestra concerts will not go ahead as scheduled:
  • Broadway Today with Craig Schulman concert on March 28
  • Beethoven 250 Celebration I (free/non-ticketed) chamber concert on March 29
  • From the New World concert on May 2
  • Symphonic Superheroes (free/non-ticketed) family concert on May 3
Ticket holders can choose to have their tickets converted into a tax-deductible contribution in support of the SSO, or will be able to take a credit for a future single ticket purchase. All affected ticket holders will need to contact the box office regarding ticket options via email at [email protected] or by phone at 318-227-8863. The SSO's in-person office hours will be limited through the end of March. If we are not in the office, patrons may leave a message for a return call.

We appreciate the continued support of our friends, patrons, and donors, and urge everyone to be safe. We are closely monitoring the CDC's recommendations and the Governor's advisories and will keep our symphony community updated as next steps are determined in the coming days.
