GOOD FRIDAY
DOWNTOWN @ NOON
Pastor Rick plans to continue the tradition of carrying the cross in downtown Tampa at noon on Good Friday. But, this year is different. No crowds will gather. Nobody will be in costume. It will not be a reenactment. Instead it will be a poignant, quiet reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made for all of us at Calvary. And a time for prayer.
Joe Stevens, Ryan Martin, JT King, and Pastor Rick will gather on the 4 corners of Kennedy and Franklin. Each will carry a cross, and walk in opposite directions (North, South, East & West) for 30 minutes, and then turn around and return to the corner. They will be praying for Tampa Bay and the surrounding communities, asking God to draw all of us closer to Him, and to help us remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the love that God wants us all to share with others. They will pray for unity and peace, as well as deliverance from COVID-19. They will pray that God will give us wisdom to practice safety during this dangerous time and that the Tampa Bay community will bounce back stronger than ever. They will also pray for our First Responders and others on the front lines who risk their health and their lives to bring healing and to protect others.
Please set your alarm for noon tomorrow and join them in prayer. You can gather on zoom to pray collectively, or pray privately. Just pray.
