Property Tax Conversations
As we reported in our April 2 Update, Hospitality Minnesota has  joined a coalition  led by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce to request an extension of the May 15 property tax payment. There is no word yet on that decision, but we will be part of a call with Senator Roger Chamberlain, chair of the Senate Tax Committee, on Thursday.
Community Relief Efforts
Cites, nonprofits, foundations and community groups focused on relief efforts continue to emerge, providing addition assistance beyond public programs. All of the organizations provide the option to donate. Here is a selection of some we’ve highlighted over the past few weeks:

  • Home Line: a nonprofit Minnesota tenant advocacy organization

  • United Way: COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund - check local United Way chapter

If you are aware of other relief efforts, send the information to info@hospitalitymn.com and we’ll share it with others.
