Late arrivals
If your arrival is delayed and you will not be able to get to campus within your designated arrival window at the MAC, please go directly to the Health Center when you get to campus (GPS address: 11 Interlaken Road). The Health Center team will welcome your student, perform necessary health screenings, and will then help them get to their dorm, where their registration materials will be awaiting them.

Registration
Upon arrival  at the MAC, students will visit the following stations. Please note that while we are not restricting the number of family members permitted on campus to see their student off, there will be a limit of  one (1) family member plus the student during the check-in process. This family member will also be given a brief symptoms screening upon arrival.
  • Official campus check-in: Students will receive a letter outlining their dorm assignments and other important details. They will also pick up their Hotchkiss COVID Kit which will contain eight (8) reusable masks for them to use throughout the week.
  • Health Center screening: Students will have a symptoms screening and must provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result that is no more than seven  (7) days old. All students with prescription medication to be dispensed from the Health Center should also turn in any prescription medication in their possession at this time.
  • Laptop pick-up (for new students only): New students will pick up their Hotchkiss-issued laptop and be given a brief tutorial on how to access email and other important network information.
  • Student Bank OneCard pick up: Students can pick up their OneCards from a representative from the Student Bank.
  • SEVIS registration and passport collection (for students from abroad only): Students from abroad should visit this station to get their I-20 signed and turn in their passports.
  • E&R laundry registration and bag pick-up: This is an optional resource that families can sign up by visiting www.TheCampusLaundry.com or calling (800) 243-7789. Those enrolled in this program can pick up their laundry bags from this station.
  • Olympian & Pythians pick-up: The O&P committee is hard at work and will have some surprises for students to pick-up and games to play as part of the first O&P challenges of the year.
Dorm Move-In and Beyond
After students complete registration, they will move into their rooms where they will have the opportunity to unpack, decorate, and start making it feel like home. Click here for some helpful hints on dress code requirements, what to bring (this year, less is more!), laundry, and shipping details.

As a reminder, family members will not be permitted in the dorms or main buildings and should depart campus after unloading your student. Snacks and restrooms will be available in the MAC in addition to the area adjacent to the Library on Main Campus. There will also be easels outside each dorm listing the name and contact information for your student's dorm team. We encourage you to take a photo of this important information!

Activities for all groups - orientation leaders and proctors, day students, new students, and returning students - will begin later in the afternoon of each arrival day. While the programming will be virtual, we will keep everyone busy, engaged, and having fun.

Action Required: Student Cell Phone Numbers Needed
Please click here to complete a survey with your student's cell phone information. We want to ensure that we have the most up-to-date contact details.

Action Required: Community Compact
Keeping the community safe will rely on everyone's commitment to personal accountability and communal responsibility. With this in mind, attached you will find the Community Compact, which we ask every student to print out, review with their family, sign, and bring with them to campus. The Compact outlines the School's implicit and explicit expectations of each community member with respect to safety and active participation in maintaining the health of the community.

Health Update
Please note that this year, as part of our health and safety protocols, the School will require all students to be vaccinated against the flu. Vaccinations will be conducted on-campus in October. A permission form for the flu vaccine is included with students' required health forms. Please contact the Health Center if you have any questions.

As always, please refer to the Reopening page on the website for a list of names and contact information where you can direct your questions.

We look forward to seeing you in Lakeville next week!

Best,

Steve McKibben P'22
Dean of Community Life
