Plastic Bag Ban in place since March 1, enforcement starting April 1, 2020
Reminder: The NY State Plastic Bag Ban and Paper Bag Fee is currently in effect. Shoppers are expected to have their own bags available in most stores, with very limited exceptions such as food sliced or prepared to order, or prescription medications.
The Morris Park BID will distribute a limited quantity of shopping bags to businesses on Morris Park Avenue, to assist local merchants and residents in adapting to use of reusable bags.
The enforcement of the law has been postponed to April 1, with the first non-compliance offence being a warning. We urge all small businesses on Morris Park Avenue to continue preparing compliance with this important legislation.
We encourage all businesses on Morris Park Avenue to use social media - Facebook, Instagram and Twitter - to inform customers of operational updates.

We are featuring today a posting from @Morris_Park_Dental - follow them on Instagram for a healthy dose of smiles.
POSTPONED - The opening reception for a new MPBID program, bringing an arts event series to #MorrisPark Avenue, originally scheduled for March 19, will be postponed for a later date.

Congratulations to Morris Park Inn for being featured in the Bronx Times last week. We look forward to many years of Morris Park Inn thriving and bringing families to celebrate, karaoke and brunch together in the renovated space at 1024 Morris Park Avenue.

Thank you all businesses, community members, Morris Park elected officials, CB11 and individuals supporting our work to keep Morris Park clean, green, safe and thriving! Morris Park BID Board Team
Our district is among the most under-counted NYC districts! Did you know you can provide your informatIon safely, online, RIGHT NOW?
You can fill your Census 2020 questionnaire HERE.

Over the next decade, lawmakers, business owners, and many others will use 2020 Census data to make critical decisions. The results will show where communities need new schools, new clinics, new roads, and more services for families, older adults, and children.
The results will also inform how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding are allocated to more than 100 programs, including Medicaid, Head Start, etc.
