World Day of Prayer for Vocations
Happy Easter! We want you to know that we are praying for you. Showing our trust in God during this troubling time is one of the best ways we can share our faith and continue our ministry. Our chaplain Fr. Victor Perez offered Mass for Vocation Ministry and those who support its works on Thursday, April 2, 2020 which was also the 15th anniversary of St. John Paul II’s death. We are in this together. You can watch this Mass at the link below.
World Day of Prayer for Vocations- May 3rd
During this time of sacrificial love amid suffering , Pope Francis wrote his Message for the 57th World Day of Prayer for Vocations, which is linked below. The Holy Father could have said, "We will focus on this next year," but he instead chose to reinforce its relevance to the Church. So, following his lead, we want to continue our work to promote vocations during the world’s current trials.

We need to pray ourselves and lead others to pray in a special way for all the fallen priests and religious that died in this pandemic. Let us also pray that in this time of solitude and prayer that more young men and women hear God’s own call to serve.

Priests, we ask that should your circumstances allow you to give your parishioners the opportunity to pray for vocations, especially on Sunday May 3rd, here are some easy things that you can do.

  • Make announcement at Mass- Priests can still talk about why we need to pray for vocations
  • Add prayer for vocations in the prayers of the faithful
  • Give a homily about the need to pray for vocations, especially now
  • Share a Prayer for vocations (either a diocesan prayer or parish prayer for vocations can be posted in the parish's social media and/or email newsletter)
  • Live stream a Rosary for vocations on a Facebook Live or YouTube channel or join our new initiative for May explained below
  • A Holy Hour for Vocations can be led by your priest on a Facebook Live or YouTube channel
